That looks really neat, but whats the film situation for it?
Most of such deaths are usually due to corroded battery contacts; if that is not the cause, then "cold solder joints". The former is corrected by throroughly cleaning the contacts, the latter by re-soldering the soldering points using a soldering iron (and good technique).
Don't give up, the XE-7 is a really good camera and I, as a Canon/Nikon user, must confess that I lament the fact that Canikon never made such a great machine.
Got me an old Mamiya Rangefinder for $25 (in the mail now). Promised to be in very good working order so I'm gonna use it.
Can anyone tell me what model this is and how old?
... Mamiya Auto XTL
Beautiful find, Bert !!

Thanks!
I didn't know that second website and it's a nice read.
The camera should arrive soon and I'll let you know how it handles.
It's supposed to be in good working order so I'll test a roll soon.
And when you're in the neighborhood, come over and shoot a roll yourself!

Got a Canon New F 1 today with a short aftermarket zoom, 100 bucks. J.
Mike,
I'm really starting to wonder how big your house is
You must have quite a museum full of nice cameras by now?

This week I caught the Rolleiflex virus. Up until now I've never had a desire for a Rolleiflex or a TLR, except for a brief infection that caused me to research the Mamiya C330f.
Anyway, I thought a 2.8C would be perfect: no frills and less to go wrong. Alas, that one had issues. So, now I've got a 3.5F, type 2, from 1960. Seems to be good overall, with a bright screen. The only minor issue is that the meter reads a stop or two low - but I've yet to own an old, accurate, selenium meter. Not a big deal.
