I would, but the problem is that once a camera is heavier than my F2 or Canon F-1N, i prefer to pick the Mamiya C330, or even the Pentax 67. That's the problem -- once a certain weight is reached, 35mm starts to compete with the medium format SLR and TLR cameras.

The F4 is 1200g without lens, so about 1600g with a prime lens. The Mamiya C330 is about 1600g with the 80mm lens. And the C220 is even lighter.

The Contax grip is fine but the Contax Stuttgart has a shorter rangefinder base than the original Contax II/Kiev 2 camera.

I confess I still have to shoot with the IIA and the Biogon, too many cameras, too few film and targets.

I have just won a Canon Sureshot Supreme on evilbay. A very underrated camera with a cracking f2.8 lens and the ability to shoot in low light without flash. I have one already and as this one was going for a mere 99p, it would have been rude not to !

Delivered today from KEH: one "AS-IS" Nikon N2000 and "BGN" Series E 36-72 mm f/3.5 lens. The N2000 was supposed to have the AA battery option, but was also supposedly "not in working condition", and "usable for parts only". I bought it to support an N2000 in a Goodwill auction lot that's still in transit, and after looking it over, decided to load batteries and determine how bad off it was. The first thing I determined was in spite of its being labelled as "AA batteries", the battery holder and bottom cover were sized for AAA batteries. I figured out that AA batteries can be placed directly in the camera battery chamber, but the alternate bottom cover is deeper to accommodate the larger diameter AA battery profile. Once properly powered, the N2000 responded to my switching it on with its film loading cycle; the viewfinder display showed clear and bright, and it dry-fired in both single shot and continuous modes at various selected shutter speeds.

"AS-IS" and only $5 for the N2000; the "BGN" 36-72 mm zoom was more realistically priced at $31

Postscript: The shipment from Goodwill came in today, and that N2000 turned out to be beyond help, mirror jammed in a raised position and a hole in its bottom cover from battery leakage. The electronics responded after I cleaned up the battery holder and chamber, but its mechanism is jammed and not responding; the colorful yellow neck strap it came with now adorns the "AS-IS" beauty from KEH [The Goodwill lot also included first generation EOS Rebel and a mid-1990s Rebel G bodies, both of which are in nice condition and working].

Jammed mechanism --> try naphta soaking. You got nothing to lose.

The 36-72 is a lens i've wanted to own.

First, thanks for the naphtha soak tip. You're right about having nothing to lose, but it may just be a waste of time and naphtha. A closer look in the mirror chamber reveals the mirror is higher on one side than the other [see attached photo], and I found a barely visible hairline crack in the plastic top cover from the ASA dial to the side and down to the mounting screw, making it look like this one is disabled due to a good hit.

Second, regarding the 36-72 zoom lens: I like the fact that it's f/3.5 all the way from 36-72 and takes 52 mm filters. I didn't know its closest focus was 4 feet, and was further surprised to learn it's 36 mm when fully extended and 72 mm at its shortest.

Yes,

1976, I was looking for an earlier one, but got this one for £21.00 with a Jupiter 8M, I've not received it yet.

Someone bought it by mistake (it was too complicated for their needs) from a dealer who I've purchased from in the past, dealer had given it a basic calibration, CLA and check to confirm all working.

We'll see when it arrives, hope it hasn't got the frame overlap problem.

I also had my eye on a nice Nicca, but I'll wait until my cameras which are for sale in classified are sold (I'm moving away from 120 format).

I bought a Nikkor 35-80mm f4-5.6 AFD from KEH, the later version. I know some people don't find this focal length very exciting. But I really like it and you can't beat the light weight, compactness and the price($35.00 w/Free Shipping). I think it's optically not half bad. I understand that this version has Nikon's SIC coating. I know this is not a camera but I bought to go with my new N80.

After a fall on a trip to Colorado the Nikon N-75 was not working. I checked the batteries, one was good and one was bad. I replaced the bad battery and the camera still would not work. After a few weeks I took it to Samys. The repairman said that one battery was good, the new one, and one was bad. He replaced the bad battery and the camera was back to working. Now the N-75 is the latest new old camera and I do not have an excuse or reason to buy a second F-100. <<sigh>>

Lens is good and clear, nice sounding shutter, film wind on ok.

The real test will be when I put a film through it.

Need to practice the Contax grip though and I don't like the infinity lock for lens changing.

A Soviet made KMZ FT-2 Panoramic. I still have a few light leaks to work out but otherwise it seems to work fine.
