What's your latest new old camera? (Part 1)

Also the speed doesn't matter much as I use manual (M-42) lenses to a large extent.

Not knowing much about the EOS 1 cameras, what's the appeal of the EOS 1 with an adapter over a nice M42 body? I'd think the M42 bodies would be lighter and just as good. Does the EOS 1 has a particularly good light meter? Or just a matter of ergonomics?

The light meter is one of the good points of these cameras as well as it is NOT small that suits me well. The film rewind speeds things up nicely as well as switching to my AF lenses when needed.

My brother stopped by and dropped off a Spartus Full View. After a little cleaning is seems to be in working order. I loaded it up with a roll of 120 for a quick test run. If it checks out I'll give it to my nephew to try a roll.

Took delivery of a Balda Baldina today - very impressed for a 1935 35mm camera. All functions as it should. Compur shutter and a Schneider Radionar lens. Will try it with film at the weekend.

A few days ago, I bought an Olympus Infinity SuperZoom 330 for $5 at the local thrift. I have a weakness for oddball designs. It seems to work fine and came with a fresh pair of C123 batteries. I plan to run a test roll through it today. It's one like this except mine is missing the lens cap / remote control. It does have the 40.5mm skylight filter though.

Contax RX...great little slr and, just as important, access to a nice bevy of Zeiss glass. Weird to justify owning this and Zeiss Ikon ZI, but I seem to do so.

How's the Focus Assist working? That's the thing I like most about the RX. Well, that and the fact that it's an very nice looking camera.

I've always felt that the RX represents the pinnacle of engineering in pre-autofocus SLRs.

Nice. I have the 101 which was CLAed about a year before I got it. It's kind of funny, but I ignored the SRT Minoltas for years, and now I've really fallen in love with them. Tough workhorses with great lenses.

Nice. I have the 101 which was CLAed about a year before I got it. It's kind of funny, but I ignored the SRT Minoltas for years, and now I've really fallen in love with them. Tough workhorses with great lenses.

I got my first SRT-101 back in '69. Over the years, I've had an XG-7, an X-570, and an X-700, but these days I'm down to all SRTs: two 101's, a 102, and now a 201. You're right -- tough workhorses and great lenses.

I wonder how much you'll use the 90mm lens. I never used mine, the 50mm regularly and the 35mm is almost glued to my M7.
A pitty though, since it's a beautiful lens. Maybe my choice of subjects??
Okay, I'll take the 90mm and leave the others at home next time I go wandering around with a Leica and see what it will bring me.....

Thanks. I was thinking the 90mm would be a good portrait lens. I have already been looking at 50mm summilux lenses, I would love to have one of these too.
