Good morning.....
I was given a pretty decent Mamiya Six folder camera early this year. In Oct of this year I sent it into Zacks camera repair for a CLA and she came back really sweet, new shutter, all nice and clean inside, and frankly focusing is bang on nice.....

So, since I paid $115 for the CLA is it worth me selling? I would be sending the Zacks receipt as well.
I'm really trying to consolidate down to 2 or 3 working cameras.
Thanks tons for the help.
Tom

P.S. I really dig Zacks Camera Repair in Rhode Island and highly recommend them.

Well if you make me a fair offer then there you go....
Oh, her case is included as well.........

Yes--absolutly--you WILL sell it to me for $115, and of course I'll even kick in the shipping costs(but only 'cause its the holidays and I'm such a nice guy) But on a serious note, hang on to it, its a great camera. If you do decide to sell it(cheap) I'd like it.

LOL, funny, your spell almost worked, I had begun to go downstairs to pack it.... powerful, but then thought about it. I'd rather keep her and not loose money.....

Yes, I ran a roll of APX25 thru here and bang on amazing results... I'd say better then most of my MF bodies. The DOF fall off was very surprising as to how smooth.

Some kind of offer sent  no clue if it's even in the right range though....

But honestly, if it were me, I'd hang on to it right now. It's a buyer's market. Nothing is going for real value right now.

Ok, shes gone to a very good home, thank you.

I guess, next would be the brand new in it's custom box Minolta - 16 MG S.
Na, I can't sell that it was a gift, I'm putting that into an auction for charity soon......
Thanks guys.

Note to self:

APUG is a dangerous place....

I know, it really really is.

But I really want to get simple now, not more then 3 cameras sets' and try to really focus on my own photography with these tools. But dang... somehow..........

Just curious. How is the viewfinder on the Mamiya Six folder? Many of the old folders have view finders that are so small as to be almost useless.

I find the viewfinder as clear and / or sized as any I've seen and or handled before. I had not a lick of trouble with her in any light. It' was clear that the finder framed the negative bang on.
This may be why it was such a desired camera for so long and now.

The viewfinders, even on the early ones, is pretty good. However, I reckon the best viewfinder on an old folder is to be found on the Iskra. The Super Fujica-6 is pretty close to the Iskra, with the RF patch possibly being a little "snappier". None have frame lines (IIRC, one of the very late Mamiya Six folders did, but I'm not sure), but the viewfinders are clear and accurate.

Keep it, use it, love it. They are getting very rare these days, and after all, what's one more little MF folder?

LOL. I know and I'm getting a lot of different emails from folks telling me this as well.
She will be going to a good home where she will be used very well.

There just comes a point where I can't have anymore rare oldies like her anymore. These are meant to be used.
Have a great evening.
