Nice. Had the 3.0 version, still had like 1/3rd of it left & ended up giving it to a friend of mine that makes painting for friends.

The 50mm Hasselblad lens I just bought has a lens hood and cap printed on a 3D printed and the interior of the nice hood has micro layering that will hold the paint very well.

i have a Bambu 1A I’ve not learned to use yet but I expect additional hoods for various lenses will give me the same texturally receptiveness and a few of my pinhole, etc cameras will benefit from the same paint.

I’m an artist and paint in Golden acrylic and I’m curious how lightfast this stuff is in a non abrasive role.

I bought some 3D adhesive, so prints stay put on the platter, white printing, and a copy of ‘3D Printing for Dummies’, so I can make lens hoods, flotation lids for Kodak rubber tanks, film containers, etc,

I hope to print some small clamps for photography too.

Sodium Metaborate and Phenidone from Artcraft Chemicals.

My recent purchases of bellows and lensboard were unceremoniously thrown against the ice of my doorstep this evening as if in a mad rage! They're alright though I worry slightly about the mental health of the carrier.

My most memorable FedEx experience (unusual!)? was the sound of the impact of an Aristo cold light (24") safelight .

A 35mm FD lens, chrome breach lock ring for my metal F1s.

It looks like a nice one.

That's a good deal provided it's clean and not too vrown; can you share the source? Also, 'hard' - I assume you mean high bloom, over 250?

Well, I bought it at local wholesaler, it says on the side "Made In Germany by Ewald Gelatin GmbH", and "Professional Gold gelatin", it came in a big white paper box, and inside was a "brick" of sheets of gelatin. So far I made sizing, and carbon glop, the "gold" implies something like 200 bloom, but I would guess it might be slightly higher compared to other gelatines I've used. The sizing I made was notably transparent (I keep it premade in a glass jar, the jar stays transparent, only slightly cloudy, but it's 10cm thick!). So far I'm pretty happy.

EDIT: The shelf actually said bronze, but for Ewald, that means that it has 300 sheets per Kg.
EDIT 2: Did some digging, It's 100% porcine skin, and has a bloom strength of 210, not the hardest but usable.

Okay, thanks. I've never used sheet gel for carbon transfer, but it should work fine. The stuff you've used is surprisingly cheap; the material mostly used for carbon today is around €35/kg in small quantities.

I just finished pouring 5 a4 sheets of carbon tissue with the new gelatin, very nice stuff. I prefer sheet gelatin becuse I thinck it introduces less air bubbles in the mix, I shred the sheets with a pair of scissors, and then let them swell, there is no cloudiness after melting and much less air bubbles.

Fotoimpex offers this one:
German site says 290 g bloom, the label 289g... the 200g on the english page looks like a typo.
There are two more variants.

Hi Mark,
Welcome.
Those are relatively recent purchases for me as well. Is the developer for film or for paper? Mine is for paper.

A selection of 120, 5x7 and 8x10 Negafile archival sheets and one more 15 inch lens wrap.

Resolved to finally organize my slap-dash negative storage and actually print contact sheets of 20 year old negatives never printed.

I am full of dread...

I am doing much the same thing.

Starting in the early 2000s, I began keeping workbook prints of my work - 8x10s more or less fully interpreted but not exhibition quality.

But I have negatives going back to 1971 or thereabouts. So, some years ago, I determined to go back to the older negatives and add workbook prints from that era. I am now working on 1998

It's been a joy rediscovering old friends and reviving a lifetime of photographic (and other) memories. Some of the memories are kind of sad, but most have been great fun to revisit.

Yes, it can be rewarding; just daunting. I will be making 8x10 proofs and 5x7 prints of the negatives I feel justify the effort. I stopped making anything larger than 5x7 for prints to share with others as no one wants to deal with the size/space taken-up by 8x10 prints.

Yeah, I find making this prints sort of therapeutic to not only revisit the past, but also think about how my work and vision has evolved. It's also a really good filler activity to keep me active in the darkroom when there isn't new work to be printed.

Have fun. Share with the class 😀

Maybe... a bit. During my "working life", I never really had the luxury of getting serious about my photography and it was very sporadic and often quite rushed. There will be very few worth presenting, but there are a few.

This ain't a competition...

Two books:

“Impressed By Light: British Photographs from Paper Negatives, 1840-1860” by Roger Taylor

“The Day In It’s Color: Charles Cushman’s Photographic Journey Through A Vanishing America” by Eric Sandweiss.

I bought this Linhof optical finder with 6x9 mask:

More than I wanted to spend, but from what I hear of it, it'll be the last finder I ever need.
