15x 6a10 MIC 1000V 6A diodes, 10x 14007 1000v 2A diodes, 5ft. of 16 ga. stranded wire, 10x 10M ohm 1W resistors, banana plugs and jacks, PVC pipes and fittings, and some shrink tubing.

I'm repairing a pair of Novatron power packs (different models) and am building a high voltage probe (10x voltage divider) so I can get a better read on what's going on inside them. I already fried one multimeter that was supposed to be rated to 1000V DC (though considering it costs $10 brand new, I'm not so certain that I'm actually dealing with voltages above 1000V, because my math says I shouldn't be looking at any more than 960V DC). In any case, I'm not risking one of my good DMM's on it. I'm having to do it all without schematics, and one of these was heavily modified and I'm trying to get it back to it's stock configuration, which has been a nightmare trying to figure out because without the schematic, I have no way of knowing how the factory might have wired it all up to begin with, other than to make assumptions based on the parts that are left and my math. Neither of which I fully trust.

I'm hoping my next purchase will be a soft box, a lens, or film. That stuff is much more fun to buy and use.

I've spent more than 45 years doing 35mm and 6x7. I’m not long from retirement now in just a few short years (or sooner), and I plan do a great deal more film-based field work as well as continue with pro-digital, so I finally decided to upgrade to 4x5 both in camera and darkroom. I doubt I’ll ever do 8x10, but never say never (If I do I’ll likely limit post-production to scanning only). I do mostly field/landscape work, but not exclusively. I use my digital (Nikon D800) in the studio, for high-volume work as well as for really big stuff (10x30 foot-plus multi-gigapixel indoor pano-murals). My existing 6x7 film kit is a complete Pentax 67II system, but I also have two complete Mamiya RB67 Pro S systems and a classic Rollei Rolliflex 6x6 system I rarely use anymore.

Why I went with this kit
After much thought, questions, and consideration based on my own applications, I went with the Toyo 45AII for a bunch of reasons. I like to do extreme WA through short tele. I considered models with interchangeable bag bellow, but I expect to switch between very WA (65mm) and normal (150mm) frequently, so the 45AII with its support for very wide angle lenses with its drop bed and up 300mm fit the bill nicely for tele for me (admittedly limited movements with the 65mm on a recessed board have been noted). I also love to change between vertical and horizonal composition frequently, so I loved the rotating back, even though it adds some weight, plus a camera with a bail/Graflok back to support a 6x7 film holder without changing the glass is also great as I still like to do a lot of 6x7 work and won’t need to always bring my P67II with me.

My 4x5 Darkroom Upgrade

4x5 darkroom kit extension (recently acquired):

I will add one thing, I have that Fujinon SWD f/5.6 65mm lens.

You may wish to consider acquiring a centre graduated filter for it, I have the Heliopan centre graduated filter and have never used my Fujinon 65mm without it since getting it. Huge difference and if you are doing negative work, B&W or colour, you can possibly get away without one, but for transparency work, I really don't think so. Unless of course, you are reasonably smart with computer fiddling of images, that is.

I recently bought a nice used Sony A6000 but I need to replace it with a later model because I'm using adapters and non-Sony lenses. I don't care about autofocus but want aperture priority auto exposure and image stabilization. With adapted lenses the A6000 will do auto exposure but not stabilization. Live and learn...

Arrived today. Amazing condition. I bought this as a "BGN" from KEH. This is more like "NEW". Not a scratch, glass is crystal clear, not even any dust. Going out tomorrow for testing.

PS - Arrived FEDEX surface. This was shipped Monday afternoon, and arrived here this afternoon around 2PM. That's service!

Not exactly purchased, but I was given an almost complete black and white darkroom outfit yesterday. Not the most cutting edge, but the two enlarging lenses I got with it made it all worthwhile 1 x Nikon 80/5.6 and 1 x 50/2.8 Meopta. The Meopta is at least as good as my Nikon 50/2.8 and not far behind my Rodagon 50/2.8APO.
Plus.
12x16, 10x8 dishes. Magnifax B&W enlarger, 12x16 dish heater (almost brand new), safelight, Proof printing frames (35mm and 120, developing drum + reel, masking frames, bottle of paper developer (unopened) and a quantity of boxed paper, all the current Ilford MG1V.

Well worth a 50 miles round trip!

I've only done a sort of preliminary examination, but the strap that pulls the film onto the reel is in good shape, it seems to be some sort of cloth-reinforced plastic material similar to "Naugahyde" upholstery material, but thinner. It is still pliable, no cracking and apparent chemical staining. All of which leads me to believe it's had very little, if any use.
The temperature showing on the built-in thermometer seemed to be consistent with the room I was in, but I've not critically checked it.
I am anxious to try it out, though I don't have a roll of B&W going at the moment. And in reality, I don't have a great need for such a device, since I have a pretty functional darkroom and plenty of conventional reels and tanks. But I think it might be good for demonstration purposes if I conduct more darkroom workshops at the gallery.

It seems to be nicely made and well thought-out, perhaps except for the stated necessity of continuous agitation. A 36 exposure roll takes me a long time to finish, so the frame counter and built-in cutter might be a handy feature, we will see...

Maybe Agfa contracted with Ikea's product people for the naming
