15x 6a10 MIC 1000V 6A diodes, 10x 14007 1000v 2A diodes, 5ft. of 16 ga. stranded wire, 10x 10M ohm 1W resistors, banana plugs and jacks, PVC pipes and fittings, and some shrink tubing.

I'm repairing a pair of Novatron power packs (different models) and am building a high voltage probe (10x voltage divider) so I can get a better read on what's going on inside them. I already fried one multimeter that was supposed to be rated to 1000V DC (though considering it costs $10 brand new, I'm not so certain that I'm actually dealing with voltages above 1000V, because my math says I shouldn't be looking at any more than 960V DC). In any case, I'm not risking one of my good DMM's on it. I'm having to do it all without schematics, and one of these was heavily modified and I'm trying to get it back to it's stock configuration, which has been a nightmare trying to figure out because without the schematic, I have no way of knowing how the factory might have wired it all up to begin with, other than to make assumptions based on the parts that are left and my math. Neither of which I fully trust.

I'm hoping my next purchase will be a soft box, a lens, or film. That stuff is much more fun to buy and use.

Contax IIa w/50mm Sonnar (f2)
5 Pentax bodies (Spotamatic mainly, maybe one SP2); 2 Prakticas (LTL3 AND MTL5). Practically given away on ebay.
Fuji 43-75mm M42 lens
Rexagon 28mm f2,8 M42
Bellows Pentax 100mm f4
Pentax Bellows II; Pentax slide copier.
Couple of crappy misc. lenses that came with one of the Prakticas (LTL3, neither really good, possibly repairable, still $20 for package; Praktica works well but needs a bit more light sealing, don't think the meter works).

Now, to properly lens up my new Pentax MX, I just got:

Pentax K 55mm f1.8
Pentax M 28mm f3.5
Pentax M 40mm f2.8
Pentax M 135mm f3.5

Pentax lenses are generally much less expensive than Nikon lenses, I’ve found. In addition to the above lenses, I already had a M 50mm f1.7 and an M 85mm f2. I’m pretty much set though I may keep my eye out for a 24, 35, and 100 macro.

I've spent more than 45 years doing 35mm and 6x7. I’m not long from retirement now in just a few short years (or sooner), and I plan do a great deal more film-based field work as well as continue with pro-digital, so I finally decided to upgrade to 4x5 both in camera and darkroom. I doubt I’ll ever do 8x10, but never say never (If I do I’ll likely limit post-production to scanning only). I do mostly field/landscape work, but not exclusively. I use my digital (Nikon D800) in the studio, for high-volume work as well as for really big stuff (10x30 foot-plus multi-gigapixel indoor pano-murals). My existing 6x7 film kit is a complete Pentax 67II system, but I also have two complete Mamiya RB67 Pro S systems and a classic Rollei Rolliflex 6x6 system I rarely use anymore.

Here's my new 4x5 kit that I've recently assembled/acquired:
  • (Brand new) Toyo 45AII camera
  • (Mint) Fuji Fujinon SWD 65mm f/5.6 Copal 0
  • (Mint) Rodenstock APO Sironar-S 150mm 5.6
  • Toyo 12mm recessed lens board Copal 0 (or the Fujinon 65mm)
  • Toyo 17mm recessed lens board Copal 0 (for a future 90mm)
  • Toyo non-recessed lens board Copal 0
  • (Mint) Toyo-View Compendium Lens Hood for 45AII with filter holders
  • Calumet 4x5 Roll Film Holder Model C2 for 220/120 (C2N style – odd interim version)
  • Wista 5x Standard Focusing Loupe
  • Existing cable release
  • Fidelity 4x5 sheet film holders
  • Rodenstock Metal Lens Wrench
  • Gepe Cable Release Extension for recessed lens boards
  • BH-55 universal plate for my existing BH-55 head
  • Existing Bogen 3221WN tripod
Adds I am considering:
  • Fuji Fujinon W 300mm f/5.6 lens
  • Schneider Super-Angulon MC 90mm XL F/5.6 lens
  • Grafmatic Film Holder 4x5 (two 6-slot units)
  • Carbon fiber tripod

Why I went with this kit
After much thought, questions, and consideration based on my own applications, I went with the Toyo 45AII for a bunch of reasons. I like to do extreme WA through short tele. I considered models with interchangeable bag bellow, but I expect to switch between very WA (65mm) and normal (150mm) frequently, so the 45AII with its support for very wide angle lenses with its drop bed and up 300mm fit the bill nicely for tele for me (admittedly limited movements with the 65mm on a recessed board have been noted). I also love to change between vertical and horizonal composition frequently, so I loved the rotating back, even though it adds some weight, plus a camera with a bail/Graflok back to support a 6x7 film holder without changing the glass is also great as I still like to do a lot of 6x7 work and won’t need to always bring my P67II with me.

My 4x5 Darkroom Upgrade

4x5 darkroom kit extension (recently acquired):

  • LPL 455p XLG VCCE enlarger with K&IF
  • LPL color head slide-in module
  • Schneider 150mm f5.6 Componon S Enlarging Lens
  • LPL 4x5 negative glass carrier (enlarger came with 35mm, 35mm full frame, and 6x6 carriers)
  • LPL 4-blade adjustable masking plate
Adds I am considering
  • RH Designs Analyser Pro for the LPL 4550
  • LPL 6x7 carrier
  • Epson V850 pro scanner (would love a used Kodak Creo iQsmart3, but $5k is too much for me
  • Blue river digital LED flat tabletop panel (as a light table to replace my small light box I’ve had for decades)
  • Dry mount press

This augments my existing 35mm through 6x7 hybrid darkroom which consists of the following. The Phototherm and Fujimoto processors pretty much allow me to work without a wet side. Most everything is in mint condition:
  • LPL 6700 MXL enlarger (LPL 7700 Europe)
  • Schneider 80mm f4 Componon-S
  • Nikon EL-Nikkor 50mm 2.8 enlarger lens
  • AN glass and glassless carriers for 35mm and 6x7, universal)
  • (Fully rebuilt) Phototherm Super Sidekick SK8 with two 8 roll drums, two 4 roll drums, and 2 4x5 inserts)
  • Fujimoto CP32 W/D module and replenisher unit
  • Jobo CCP2 with lift and various drums (upto 16x20) and accessories (loader etc)
  • ByChrome 16x20 vacuum easel with foot switch
  • Omega Micromega Critical grain focuser Model 1
  • Grabab model 900 timer with footswitch
  • Prinz film dryer with drying bag
  • Salad Shooter (initial roll dry before Prinz)
  • Colorstar 3000 color analyzer
  • NuArc DLB1325 Bubblite Darkroom/Photo Lab Overhead Red Light
  • Various other traditional darkroom gear (metal tanks, reels, trays, them, grads, etc)
  • Various standard bladed and borderless easels
  • Nikon Super CoolScan 9000 ED for digitizing 35mm – 6x7
  • Epson 7880 24-inch wide ink-jet printer

I will add one thing, I have that Fujinon SWD f/5.6 65mm lens.

You may wish to consider acquiring a centre graduated filter for it, I have the Heliopan centre graduated filter and have never used my Fujinon 65mm without it since getting it. Huge difference and if you are doing negative work, B&W or colour, you can possibly get away without one, but for transparency work, I really don't think so. Unless of course, you are reasonably smart with computer fiddling of images, that is.

No 50/1.4? It is an awesome lens for close up work, portraits or anything else.

I recently bought a nice used Sony A6000 but I need to replace it with a later model because I'm using adapters and non-Sony lenses. I don't care about autofocus but want aperture priority auto exposure and image stabilization. With adapted lenses the A6000 will do auto exposure but not stabilization. Live and learn...

A lens cap for the Hasselblad Fisheye, but it is too big. I have to wait for the Succot to finish before I can call the seller and decide what to do. It is thicker than the one I have and I may just glue velvet inside to make it tighter.

Bronica 50mm f/3.5 PS for my SQ-A. Waiting on the Brown Truck now.

Arrived today. Amazing condition. I bought this as a "BGN" from KEH. This is more like "NEW". Not a scratch, glass is crystal clear, not even any dust. Going out tomorrow for testing.

PS - Arrived FEDEX surface. This was shipped Monday afternoon, and arrived here this afternoon around 2PM. That's service!

Not exactly purchased, but I was given an almost complete black and white darkroom outfit yesterday. Not the most cutting edge, but the two enlarging lenses I got with it made it all worthwhile 1 x Nikon 80/5.6 and 1 x 50/2.8 Meopta. The Meopta is at least as good as my Nikon 50/2.8 and not far behind my Rodagon 50/2.8APO.
Plus.
12x16, 10x8 dishes. Magnifax B&W enlarger, 12x16 dish heater (almost brand new), safelight, Proof printing frames (35mm and 120, developing drum + reel, masking frames, bottle of paper developer (unopened) and a quantity of boxed paper, all the current Ilford MG1V.

Well worth a 50 miles round trip!

Rondinax (who gave names to all those animals?...)

Are the rubber parts still fine?

I've only done a sort of preliminary examination, but the strap that pulls the film onto the reel is in good shape, it seems to be some sort of cloth-reinforced plastic material similar to "Naugahyde" upholstery material, but thinner. It is still pliable, no cracking and apparent chemical staining. All of which leads me to believe it's had very little, if any use.
The temperature showing on the built-in thermometer seemed to be consistent with the room I was in, but I've not critically checked it.
I am anxious to try it out, though I don't have a roll of B&W going at the moment. And in reality, I don't have a great need for such a device, since I have a pretty functional darkroom and plenty of conventional reels and tanks. But I think it might be good for demonstration purposes if I conduct more darkroom workshops at the gallery.

It seems to be nicely made and well thought-out, perhaps except for the stated necessity of continuous agitation. A 36 exposure roll takes me a long time to finish, so the frame counter and built-in cutter might be a handy feature, we will see...

Maybe Agfa contracted with Ikea's product people for the naming
