Did you get one?

No I did not get one! But look at this beauty that I almost got to call my own!! Some other lucky person wanted it more than me, and deserves it more.

Aren't they wonderful?

Although, as you can see, I have the MD-1 (no red light) and MB-1 with the analog voltage meter.

^My MD-2 also has the early MB-1 at this time. Got it from KEH during one of their sales, along with a very clean MS-1. But, they only had one. So, when Roberts Camera listed the MB-1 and I noticed that it was complete and marked as being in good condition, I made an offer. Didn't expect them to accept $16.50 for it, but, not complaining.

I've just recently gone crazy and have bought a lens and another light meter. The lens is a 125/5.6 Fujinon-W (so engraved) that I hope will be a slightly better normal lens for 6x12 than my 127/4.7 Tominon.

The meter is a Horseman insertion type meter for 2x3 cameras with an adapter to fit a 4x5 cameras. There were at least three versions. The first takes 4 MR-9 batteries and one PX-640, all unobtainable Mercury cells. The second takes just 4 unobtainable MR-9s. And the third takes 4 SR-44s. I got the second version, have a spare Gossen adapter kit/battery holder for Luna Pro meters. The holder accepts 2 SR-44s, simulates a pair of MR-9s. B&H still has them, I'll have to buy one from them. And then if the untested and absolutely not guaranteed meter works I'll have TTL metering for my 2x3 Graphics, 2x3 Cambos and 4x5 Cambo.

Why crazy? The 127/4.7 Tominon is good enough and I have three smallish lightish meters that work well. Luna Pro (= Lunasix 3), Weston Master V, Sekonic L-328. But I've been fascinated by the Horseman TTL meter for decades.

I can't tell you about my latest photography related purchase unfortunately because it has a lens and a shutter but takes batteries and doesn't use film

75-300/4.5-5.6 AF Nikkor. Everything works, some bind in the zoom ring between 200 and 300. $5+tax. Glass is dusty, but no unsightlies.

A Mamiya TLR body and lens. But the camera seller on ebay backed out after I bought and paid for it, because they don't like the fact that Ebay has a money back policy. Kind of a policy violation there so transaction is about to enter dispute stage if they don't send the camera. But the lens will come anyway, from another seller, but won't do me much good without a body.

My time machine is working again, so I went to the late 1950's and came back with these new, never used items:

Yes, I am going to use them rather than keep them in pristine condition.

Got lucky in a charity shop today. In a tray of bits I found a B + W 77mm 022 Yellow filter in pristine nick inside a plastic case.

Paid the grand sum of $0.50 for it; eBay sellers want $AUD85.00 for it. Best of all it's the correct size for my 3 RZ67 lenses. Yippee!!!

Miserable bums got some scathing feedback from me. I moved on and got a Mamiya C330, which upon arrival turned out to be the latest version ever made, the C330s. Stoked for my first TLR pics this weekend.

That's great-I've owned a C330s since 2001 and made many a good picture with it...it's put up with some serious abuse over the years so I'm looking for a couple more to add to my collection.

I think I'm going to like it once I get used to squeezing my round peg of a head into the square hole of a frame. The convenience for handheld work combined with the strange but classic look will suck unsuspecting strangers toward me practically begging to be photogrephed by "whatever that odd thing is around your neck".

They'll probably ask you, "is that a Hassleblad?"....
