Earlier today, I went to a thrift store to donate a box of books, dishes & CDs that I don't listen to anymore. After I was done, I decided to go check the electronic aisle to see if I could find a nice "garage" radio. I didn't find any radio but I got the enlarger below for 30$. It is missing the power supply and it's a bit dusty but I think I might have scored something. Let me know what you think.

LPL 7700 aka Saunders/Omega/LPL 670 DX with the colour head. I have one of those plus one of the variable contrast head versions.
Info here:

KHB's listing for the very heavy power supply: http://store.khbphotografix.com/120V-Power-Supply-for-LPL-7700-and-Saunders-LPL-670XL-Enlargers.html

By the way, the 50mm Rodagon lens is worth more than you paid.

That's a nice enlarger. Check Ebay for parts, Kevin at KHB is a great person to deal with. Looks like your treasure garage, is there a Austin Healey 3000 hiding under the car cover??

If you need a 35mm carrier (unlikely given the lens), send me a private message, because I have an extra.
I would go back to the store and check again for the power supply, because who knows where they might have put it - show them a picture from the KHB link.

Thanks. I don't know much about enlargers as I don't do prints ( Yet! hehe ) but I do see them on a regular basis at thrift stores. Usually, it's a derelict Beseler 23C with torn or missing bellows, and no lens. When I spotted this one, I thought it looked good, and you can't go wrong with this kind of price.

PS: Mustang '72 convertible, I've spent the summer breathing life into it.

Score? That's a major score!

Too often I've passed on a deal because I wasn't sure and, by the time I had changed my mind, someone else had purchased the item. Not today!

It came with the 35mm carrier but thanks for the offer *thumbs up. Except for the PSU, I think all the parts are accounted for; The 3 color filters, lightbox, red safety filter, diffuser, and, as far as I can tell, the bellows look sound.
I have to go back to this area tomorrow morning, I'll drop by the thrift store and see if I can find the PSU. Maybe they put it on a shelf among the audio stuff, also I'll bring a picture and ask the clerk if there's anything looking like it in the back store.

PS: Thanks for the info included in your previous post.

I went back to the thrift store to find the power supply for the LPL 670 DXL but, unfortunately, it wasn't there. It's likely that whoever donated this enlarger didn't have the PSU or couldn't find it.
Anyway, after exploring my options, I ended up purchasing a used unit for 70$USD (Shipping & tx inc) from an eBay seller that specializes in darkroom equipment ( newvisionphoto ). It's thrice what I paid for the enlarger but it was a ridiculous price, to begin with. At 120$CAD total for both the PSU & the enlarger with the lens, I think we're still in the bargain realm.

Just ordered a box of Fomapan 200 in 8x10. I really liked it in 4x5, and I need something more normal compared to all the 8x10 X-ray film I’ve been practicing with. Also ordered a box of TMAX100 in 4x5. I figured (after seeing 8x10 prices, that some top quality 4x5 B&W film wasn’t all that expensive. (Still holding my breath on affording 8x10 TMAX100, but we’ll see. If I could afford it, I’d love to shoot TMX on everything.)

I think you're correct. Now off to YouTube, look for The Naked Photographer's video series on aligning enlargers; I think he included Saunders specifically.

Because I’m extremely good at searching my email, I’ve accidentally ordered two TTartisans light meters.

A new ground glass/fresnel for my cambo 4x5. The new lens is f18 wide open and I need a little help.
Also have a compendium shade coming and I will cut a mask to fit the bellows connector to cut internal reflections. I am using 2 21" bellows so the pleats aren't stretched flat.
I milled a slot in the "new" lensboard for the shutter pin and properly mounted the lens. Added a safety catch for the lensboard.

Well the compendium shade was a bust. It's totally cool with a metal gel filter holder that the later ones don't have and at less than $50 a bargain but it's an inch smaller than the lens. LOL Shading the lens with a dark slide is still SOP.

Obviously, you now have to buy a different lens to fit the compendium shade. Right?

There is no other lens I know of to replace it. It's at the extreme end of practical. 90 cm of front element only gets you f18 but it's an effective 48 inch lens that infinity focuses in 32. I had already scrounged 40 inches of rail and milled a SF mount for a SC bellows connector. I've had to pin the Bogen camera plate because a 3/8 bolt is not enough. There are some photos here I can't quite get with a 200 on a 35, this lens was cheaper than a decent 400mm and just a little bit nutz. I got some shots along the coast processed tonight and will try to print tomorrow.
The new ground glass/fresnel is installed and is much brighter than the stock gg and brighter than the Bos/Screen on my SC. That one has a small crack, did not want to move it.
