I just received a very clean Minolta XE-7 from a very nice fellow here on the forum.

got a few photo books that ive wanted for awhile over the holidays and new year, some new the others used.

Just more HP5+ in 120 and Fujicolour 400 in 35mm. I've been enjoying the snow here in Cumbria!

I bought myself a bunch of white (4000-4500K) LED's with up to 10000mcd/each for backlighting my (35mm negatives as of right now) as I create ones and zeroes out of them using a bellows and dslr.

I realized when I bought my Nikon PB6/PS6 bellows that using my tablet displaying a bright white screen was not enough for short enough exposures, so this will eleminate a terrible vignetting during this process.

Several new items:

1) A mainframe, barn doors, snoot, and filter holders for one of my five Paul C Buff Einstein E640 monolights
2) A laptop tray that attaches to one of my light stands on rollers (I found very inexpensive on eBay but a great build)
3) A wireless VGA-to-HD USB transmitter to get rid of the wires in my studio (waiting for it to arrive)

I hate having any wires on the floor in my studio - even when taped down with gaffers tape. I love the incredible wireless control of the Einsteins with Buff's unique CyberCommander and have no power or PC cables on the floor for the lights whatsoever. I built my own fast DC-powerd USB2 near-field wireless camera-to-computer transmitter/receiver inexpensively many years ago for under $50USD that still blows away any of the expensive ones using a wireless USB2 dongle that transfers 36MP RAW and JPEG (both) in under 3 seconds at 480Mbps. The images display on a laptop near me on a stand with caster that rolls independent of my camera tripod. The images wirelessly transmit to my laptop (I'm using a Nikon D800 with Nikon Camera Control Pro 2) are also mirrored on two other larger monitors (one a high-rez 24" and the other a 65" HDTV - both wall mounted). I'll be using the VGA-to-HD USB to get rid of the remaining VGA cables.

I bought 2-120ml sprays of Zeiss lens cleaning fluid.

So the 100mm Planar CFi arrived. Checked it over and all the functions seem to be perfect. Beautiful lens.

Something I noticed straight away is the focusing throw is considerably longer than the 80mm Planar (actually very similar to the 120 Makro-Planar in that regard). It should allow for extreme precision. The CFi/CFE Hassy lenses really are a pleasure to focus with; perfect damping.

I found a Bogen 3050 tripod with 3047 head w/qr plate this Saturday. Planning to use it for my 4x5 Calumet. It certainly seems stout enough.

34 rolls of processed 35mm E100G/VS from The Lab, here in Vancouver, dropped off late yesterday afternoon, and picked up late this am. As always, first rate work from The Lab's' "dip and dunk." Even given a 10 per cent off the bill. Much appreciated, but I would give these folks my work regardless. Always top notch work, always flawlessly done, and always ready to pick up when promised! Up for a week in the Rockies, shortly, so another batch (E100G -120, PanF- 120) when I return.

I have just paid for a low shutter count Nikon D600. I hav not get it yet as it is in the mail to me and I expect to get it on Friday. I have made a decision to renounce colour printing in the darkroom and wanted something a little more up todate than my D300s. Nothing wrong with it at all but a later processor should be beneficial. It will share all my other Nikon lenses with my film cameras and my D700

If you ever make it to the edge of the flat earth and lean over that edge to peak at what's holding the earth up, you'll find a Bogen 3050.

HA HA it depends which edge. On ours, it's a big old Gitzo! I've seen it!

I don't doubt it (the tripod that is). I don't think I'll be hiking through a park with it, but it'll stay still for sure.

53 miscellaneous re-loadable film cassettes from the auction site. Mostly Ilford and Agfa.

You're so lucky to have a good lab like that!

A set of tools for stitching leather. Now I've re-stitched my Yashicamat 124 case and repaired the large case for my Kodak Specialist 2 (view camera).

I'm kind of switching things up: Trading off a Contax S2 and related primes for a Nikon FM2n and primes. Sideways move perhaps. Also just dropped off my Nikon Coolscan for a clean-up / repair. Thought long and hard about dropping the Rolleiflex 6008 equip and picking up a Mamiya 6 RF, but decided to give the 6008 another year to prove it can work. Love my Rollei 3.5F TLR, but still working out the preferred way to do MF 120. Thought about junking it and going to LF for high quality, but couldn't pull that trigger either. Also have a trade out of the Rolleiflex SL2 and primes in process. .
