An absolutely mint, Nikon 35/70AFD F2.8 (constant) lens. Goodby distortion, goodby blurred corners, hello superb quality.

Quite a rarity but nevertheless still a Zenith! Makes an attractive paperweight when it dies.

Zeiss Baby Tengor with a Novar f/6.3 lens. Wish the cost of 127 is bit more affordable.

If it is mechanical, it is always serviceable.

A bunch of neutral density and graduated neutral density filters (100x150mm) and the appropriate adapter to use with the RZ67. They're Chinese-made and I've subsequently seen comments that they're not the most color-accurate in the world, so I may have to confine them to use with b/w film. But that's ok, as they were reasonably inexpensive, and the adapter will fit the Cokin Z filters and/or Lee filters should I go that route later.

I bought a Linhof Profi III ball head from an eBay seller at an amazing price. The Profi III is their big bruiser, rigid as can be, and it easily holds my Hasselblad with 250mm Sonnar lens. In the photo below, I mounted my smallest camera.

That’s what I am counting on. It seems to be in decent condition and it is in working order (although I haven’t tested all the shutter speeds yet).

My brother-in-law is from the former East Germany and goes back every year to visit his family, who live right at the Polish border. He isn’t really a camera guy but is interested in various other vintage gear, and thus sometimes checks out antique shops/thrift stores in the area. Lots of old Soviet items, not surprisingly. Awhile back I gave him a list of cameras to keep an eye out for, which included the red Zenit C. He came across this one on his most recent trip.

They are relatively rare, but can often be found on eBay, usually from Ukrainian sellers. There is one for sale right now. But is nice not to have to take a chance on an internet purchase.

My first photography book was delivered this morning, I paid 5 bucks on ebay (shipping included!).
I'm very pleased by its condition, it was listed as "used" but it look more like overstock with flaws.
How do they make money with such prices?

A mint SMC Takumar 6X7 400mm f/4 - a late Christmas present.
Can't wait to carry it in the Scottish Highlands in just a coupe of weeks

A box of 50 ADOX MCP310 paper in 24x30 (cm)...
During the last darkroom session (after a longer break) I was a little rusty and wasted a lot of paper by not closing the aperture, not putting the filters in, using very old developer, expose the wrong side of the paper and combinations of these...

Oh well, but its so nice to finally get a print that I like and can put on the wall!

I did that a few times in my old darkroom/bathroom. There was so little room, the paper-safe was on the floor, usually tucked at the side of the toilet. By the time I'd slowly got myself up off the floor in the -almost- pitch dark (printing colour), so as to not knock the enlarger with my backside, I'd sometimes forget which way up I was holding the paper.

Then I'd stand for a few seconds, staring in wonder at the blank sheet that had emerged from the developer. I usually print late at night when the missus has gone to bed, so I'd spend five minutes cursing in a muffled whisper!

ASA to PC flash adapter to make use of my Medalist II. I don't have an infinite supply of flash bulbs.

Also, two different styles of m42 to Nikon F adapters, one with glass and one without. I want to see if it's worth the trouble.

I just ordered a Hasselblad 50mm CF lens. My only lens has been the 80 so it will be nice to play with some new glass.
I also picked up the PM45 and the built in diopter has really been great.
