I've wanted to work with dry plate for a while. I have a cut film back and a half dozen holders for my Hasselblad and this year I want to dive into doing dry plate with the camera. The dimensions of the cut glass are not a problem in terms of width/height, but I'm unsure in terms of thickness, as well as any relevant information regarding types of glass. Has anyone here done this with the Hasselblad holder? The film pressure plates can be removed easily and replaced with glass. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

i don't know about the Hasselblad holder, but 2mm picture frame glass is commonly used for larger format plates.

For something thinner you might check out microscope slides used for larger specimens.

hi david

the thinnest window pane glass you can find ( or at least that is what i use )
and the glass shop, ask them to cut them down for you too
i used to make 6x6 and 2x3 glass images and it was way less
of a hassle to have a glass shop cut everything,
even though i had a cutter, i was apt to make miztakes and
while they might, i got what i paid for

have fun !

What about trying the glass type transparency mounts used for archiving/projecting "7x7 Gepe Diarahmen".
One side (inner) is treated against newton rings but the other should be fine.
