Hi Walter,
Is the Agfa Vista Plus and Ferrania Solaris the same film in different packages?
How would you describe the differences between them?
Thanks, Bill
Bill,
Agfa Vista Plus is a mediocre consumer grade film. I find it low in saturation, yet rather contrasty. The grain on ISO 200 Agfa Vista Plus is comparable to Fuji Superia ISO 400. I wouldn't use this film for any high end applications, but since it's very cheap (2,39 eur where I live), I use it for snapshots with my Himatic 7s. As for the Ferrania, I couldn't say because I haven't developed a single roll of it yet. I bought a batch of 50 expired rolls and was planning on having them bulk processed. I use these expired rolls mainly for artsy experiments

Anyway, with the very low prices of both the Ferrania and the Agfa, buying a few rolls each to compare yourself certainly wouldn't be a waste of money.
Regards,
walter
Edit: serial # of a roll of Agfa Vista Plus is 806254, Solaris is 013941
