		Hi Walter,
Is the Agfa Vista Plus and Ferrania Solaris the same film in different packages?
How would you describe the differences between them?
Thanks, Bill
Bill,
Agfa Vista Plus is a mediocre consumer grade film. I find it low in saturation, yet rather contrasty. The grain on ISO 200 Agfa Vista Plus is comparable to Fuji Superia ISO 400. I wouldn't use this film for any high end applications, but since it's very cheap (2,39 eur where I live), I use it for snapshots with my Himatic 7s. As for the Ferrania, I couldn't say because I haven't developed a single roll of it yet. I bought a batch of 50 expired rolls and was planning on having them bulk processed. I use these expired rolls mainly for artsy experiments
.As far as I know, Ferrania Solaris and Agfa Vista Plus are not the same thing. Solaris is a cheap Italian film (made in Italy, too), Agfa Vista Plus is currently being made in Japan (at least, mine is). Anyway, with the very low prices of both the Ferrania and the Agfa, buying a few rolls each to compare yourself certainly wouldn't be a waste of money.
Regards,
walter
Edit: serial # of a roll of Agfa Vista Plus is 806254, Solaris is 013941
