Here is the shutter now correctly closed prior to an exposure:

And here is the shutter opening correctly for the exposure after the bulb has warmed up (1 second).

I took the cover off a Pentax Spot Meter V today to fish out the two nuts banging around in there and reattached them to the exposure dial.

My homemade base for my homemade 4x5. I made the thing all wrong so I stabilized it a bit. It's kinda on the ugly side, but it'll not come apart again.

I 'merged' my two table top tripods : the first I bought had a broken leg after falling one time too much, the new one has two issues : 1) It's marked digi ;-) AND 2) the integrated ball head is a piece of crap(at least for my Rolleiflex).

So I took the newer apart, removed one leg, which was 'donated' to the older which has a "real" ball head (Manfrottot 482 RC)

I've been thinking of this for months, so I'm happy !

Rebuilt my Godden Luna Pro (Profisix) from another meter kindly donated by another APUG member and re-greased the lens mount for my 6x17 (75mm).

Replaced the strap lugs on my Nikomat FTn with the later style that has the sleeved eyelets, then added an AI-style pair of rabbit ears to a 50f1.8 Nikkor AI that Kenmore Camera was selling, and did some hunting around for the spare non-AI rabbit ears that I have in this room somewhere, so I can reinstall them on my 85f1.8.

The circulation pump on my Jobo ATL-2+ had packed up so I stripped it down and discovered that one of the very fine wires on the motor was open cctt where it crimped onto the spade terminal....Nothing a bit of solder didn't sort out. Just got to put it all back together now

I got a busted Durst 8x10 power supply and was able to fix it up to keep as a spare. It needed a $0.22 resistor and a $0.35 transistor.

I installed new seals in a canonet ql17 giii. Camera really looks as good as new now!

Also cleaned up a Pentax Spotmatic F and I fixed the mirror-return mechanism.

Purchased a Bronica Prism Finder-E (ETRSi) for $16.96. Seller said, "There sounds like there is a piece loose on the inside but this does not affect function." I took it apart this afternoon, found a small chip of glass floating around inside, removed it, cleaned everything up inside & out and it's good to go. The chip was from a corner of the prism that didn't affect anything. Also applied some NuVinyl to the leather and the rubber eyecup. Looks really nice.

I just picked up a darkroom setup from a local pro who has gone digital. Part of the package was a Durst M605 mounted on a Beseler 45MCR chassis. I have smaller format enlargers up the wazoo, so I set about swapping the 45 head back on the rig. Considering I've never used either enlager, it was a fairly simple process. I realize now, though that I'm going to have to completely reorganize my darkroom, starting by moving it from the second floor to the basement of our house. (cellar, actually... I have to enter through a trap door in the kitchen floor.)

it wasn't today
but the last thing i fixed
was a cyclone #5 magazine camera
i stripped all the funky 100 yr old peeling
leather off of it to bare wood and tuned up the shutter.
today i fixed another 20 contact prints.

Not fixed, but made useable:

I have an old Kodak Autographic 2A with a broken shutter mechanism which up until now was just a decorative item. Last night I found the lens assembly from one of the later all plastic Kodak 6x9 folding cameras and realised that the shutter on this was very similar - almost identical apart from the front ident plate.

It even had the same T, B, 1/25 and 1/50 settings as the original and the Bausch and Lomb elements from the original fit the threads.

All I need to do now is make some reel spacers to use it with 120 film.

I managed to fix a sticky 1/30th sec shutter on my Nikon S2......boy those grub screws are small......and my eyesight ain't what it used to be!

A Minolta Hi-Matic 7s.

I picked it up at a flea-market this morning. I spent an enjoyable afternoon disassembling it, replacing the seals, and cleaning it up. It's quite a nice little camera, though the aperture and shutter speed dials are dreadful.

Readjusted the meter coupling linkage on my Nikomat FTn, so it reliably functions, instead of indexing f/2.8 lenses as f/1.2... Meter's underexposing by about 1/3 stop when compared to my other Nikons, but not as far off as the other Nikomat FTn here on my desk. That body may have a weak cell, since it can show full overexposure at 1/2 second and f/5.6 @ ISO 100 with the lens cap on and the eyepiece covered.

Cleaned the fogging / fungus off the inner elements of a Schneider Componon 5.6/80 enlarger lens. I got it for nothing when I won another identical (but more recent) one in an auction. The guy said he couldn't be bothered to list it. I disassembled it using a pair of straight blade nail scissors.

Now I'm waiting for the Ikoflex assembly kit to arrive. Mirror needs resilvering and I plan to have that done by Galvoptics. The camera is apparently in quite a bad way, but working.
