Bob is a small business owner. Whether he earns vacation time or not is not the question. My point is this: Not taking your vacation is absolutely stupid. Do not ever do this. Take your vacation time - you've earned it. You will not be valued more or appreciated for skipping your vacation and staying at work (especially if you're already working ~60 hours per week).
When I used to run my own small business it was always incredibly difficult to plan vacations.
Sadly, the practice of law (my case) doesn't always permit that sort of control over eventualities.I ran my machine shop for 7 years never having that problem. Took many vacations. Schedule in advance and inform the customers. Just takes planning and discipline.
Thanks - sorry about the diversion.Matt,
You still help newbies like me.![]()
A million cameras are never too much!Okay,
I'm taking only one camera bag and it is packed:
- Hassy SWC (38 mm Biogon lens)
- Widelux F7 (panorama)
- Woca 120G (like Holga, before the name Holga was invented, but with a glass lens)
- Ondu 6x6 (always bring a pinhole camera)
- Nikon FM3A with 40/2.8P pancake lens (small, light and easy to use)
- about 40 films or so.
Believe me, this is traveling light for me. I heated your words so didn't bring the heavy stuff, like Mamiya C330f, Bronica GS-1 with 50 mm, Texas Leica, etc. I thought about bringing a Nikon F or Leica M4-2, but those haven't got a light meter and I'd like to use the FM3A again. That 40 mm lens is small, but fine. I took a small pinhole camera (6x6) instead of the large 6x17 RealitySoSubtle. And even the Hassy SWC is relativity light.![]()
Don't forget the staycation!I think this thread could have benefited from an initial definition of Holiday/Vacation.
I admire the dedication some of you guys have. (Thumbs Up icon implied)
I'm back from Italy and what a beautiful country! I visited the region "La Marche" with beautiful mountains and the Adriatic Sea.
I spend a lot of time with the family so not too much shooting.
