What camera are you lusting after, and why?

Because I'm a realist... a mamiya rb67 and a mamiya c330. I wouldn't turn down some more pentax glass either, that'd be good, seeing as I use it on my "other..." camera.

I want another Nikon FG like the one I had, but broke. I know you don't believe that's one to desire, but I liked the metering system in it. I've had 2, and when I have some extra money to spend I want another.

A Leica M. I sold mine a few months ago and I miss it terribly. Here's what I'd love:

M2 + 35 Summicron
M3 + 90 Elmarit
50 DR 'Cron + 135 + CV15&Finder in the bag
Gossen Digisix or CV Meter

I lust after almost every camera I see that's not a 35mm.

I'm on an instant kick, so lately I've been slavering after:

Polaroid 180 and 195 (the ones with manual exposure)
Polaroid 600SE (a rebadged press camera)
Even the Fuji Instax 200, an automatic camera that spits out credit card-sized instant photos.

When I'm not thinking about instant, I want:

4x5, 5x7, 8x10 and 11x14 View Cameras
A brooks 6x9 Veriwide
Any Fuji 6x9 rangefinder
A Graflex or Speed Graphic

And anything else that's not 35mm, except a 6x6 SLR, which I already have.

I think the Instax 200 makes somewhat larger than credit-card-sized photos (3.9" x 2.4"). The Instax Mini (which takes completely different film) makes closer to credit-card-sized photos.

I recently saw an Instax 200 in a local store (which was odd as they don't sell the film for it, and other than their 1-hr processing are digital-centric). It was quite large - almost as wide as my head, and about half as tall - not exactly what I would personally look for in take-everywhere instant. But YMMV.

If I had the money, I'd pick up a Mamiya 7 with a 43mm.

More realistically, I'd like a Nikon F100 so I can use my Sigma full-frame 12-24mm in some mode other than shutter-priority on my F4.

A nice clean, affordable Speed Graphic or this type. Maybe a Mamiya Press Camera. Of course none will be affordable in my lifetime, but I can dream. I need to use up the cameras that I have already.

A Hasselblad SSWC for all the obvious reasons.

A 4" x 5" camera. Maybe a Graflex Crown.

I'd like to trade my Crown(s) for a Speed, to take advantage of the built-in shutter -- I'd like to shoot with Petzval lenses in the future and this seems a pretty simple way to go about it.

Alternatively, I'd love to learn wetplate collodion, so I guess a Century-style 8x10 camera and accessories.

Brilliant! I've not dipped my toes in the medium format waters yet. Since I've got 35mm and 4x5 covered, those MF toes are feeling cold and left out! The Bessa III is of great interest, followed by a Rollei SL66 or a Hassy kit... or perhaps a modest TLR. (Topic: Cameras are like Pokemón. Discuss amongst yourselves.)

But what I *really* want is to finish the planning and construction of my darkroom.

I've got 4x5 and MF fairly well covered, which makes me want something small for portability reasons. A Leica M3 is tempting, but equally so is a digital like the Olympus E410 as there are situations where I really find myself wanting digital (please don't shoot me!).

I'm actually pretty well covered, but there is one that lens that I'd really like to have. If you have a chance check out the DVD that Keith Carter put together. He had a lens made for his Hasselblad that I think is a simple meniscus lens or a landscape lens set up in a Hasselblad lens body. That would be sweet. Anyone have a bad 80mm lens with a decent shutter that I could play Frankenlens with??????

I suppose the "official" answer is to get a view camera with a rollfilm back, but for me right now that just seems too large and awkward.

You will see my petzval lens adapted to a modern medium format Pentax 67. It is hands down my favorite camera/lens setup.

ps: I also love Keith Carter's work. I have the Anthropy Arts video he made a couple of years ago. I highly recommend it. I met Keith a few weeks ago at his book signing for his new book "A Certain Alchemy". Nice, unassuming guy.
