Nikon F2A, Nikon F, Nikon FE, Nikon FA, Canon Model 7 rangefinder

konethousand

Ah, yes, the Kone Thousand. Very rare, highly sought after. A legend.

Some mistakenly think it is a Hawaiian camera, but it really is Japanese.

Nikon FM3a (mostly), then Nikon F4 for my kids sports and wildlife.

Bought a Nikon F100 a couple months ago which has been seeing a lot of use.
Mostly shoot a Robot star and Leica IIIC but those aren't SLR's.

Starting this year for 35mm, I have facilitated M42, so I am using Pentax Spotmatics and Practikas (LTL3 and MTL5), plus I have acquired two Contax based rangefinders (Kiev 4a, Contax iia). I have a Kodak Retina Reflex IV coming (I have a couple of non rangefinder-slotted DKL lenses with no bodies). I also ordered a DKL to M42 adapter.

It’s tied between a Canon T70 and my Retina IIIc/IIc pair.

FWIW, I like the IIc the best.

Leica M4-2, two FED-2, Canon EOS-300, SnapSight water proved (in case) single mode camera, Bessa R2M, Smena-8m, Zorki.

It's very rare I shoot 35mm these days, when I do it's been with a Praktina FX and Tessar or 58mm Biotar lens, also a Spotmatic F and 55mm or 105mm SMC TAkumars.

Nikon F3HP but that will change now from now on as I've replaced it with a Canon EOS 1N.

I'm so predictable. Invariably, the first 35mm camera I'll reach for is my Canon F-1n. I have two -- one with the big Motor Drive MF attached. And despite the size and weight of this combination, it's usually the first thing I'll reach for. The next most frequent would be a Nikon -- either my N80 or F4s. I like the F4s more, but the N80's AF system is way better, plus it is a very quiet camera.

Short answer. Over the past two years my Leica MA has been the workhorse without any doubt. I am very glad that Leica made that camera for me. I still use the Zeiss Ikon and the K1000 but nowhere near as often as the MA.

I have noticed a bit of a change in my usage in the past couple of months though. I am doing a lot of late evening photography of the grandchildren at various high school sports events and, since my eyes are not what they used to be, my Pentax PZ1p has received the nod more often than not for this work. Its' autofocus, particularly with my Limited lenses, is very quick and reliable. If I continue shooting film in the evenings and indoors I'm sure I will be appreciating that autofocus help more and more frequently. I must be getting lazy. I suspect I could still focus the MA just as successfully but that autofocus is certainly addictive. :D

Tossup between the Nikon F4 and FE. The FM3a comes in third.

I think next year I'll pack them away and get out the Contax bodies. I haven't used them for a LONG while. I know I need to reseat the mirror on the AX, I think the rest are fine.

Too many...Still.!
I should have listened closer to the bulk of the membership here.
Though, the money was not "huge".....but it was still a bit of a waste.
I just sold the last of my A-1 and AE1-P bodies. They work as well as any, i just have too many cameras.
Regards Canon..... i now, only, have the F-1 New and the AT-1.
This last year i have shot pretty much just the F-1 New.
I have three excellent (different) Minolta bodies and four Nikon F2 of three variants.
Oh yeah, i have two Awesome Om-1n and a OM-3.
I also have a Nikon FM and a FM2n.
My local college can always use a decent body. I have a Minolta XG-M that is a fantastic camera. It is worth, almost, nothing so i might simply donate it.
FWIW.......If not for the F-1 New i would take Minolta over Canon (FD) every time.
