What happens if we dip cotton paper in to silver nitrate , take picture on it and develop ? Does any silver remains or all falls off ?

Umut

I'd think it will sink (too) deep into the paper, thus loosing sharpness?

Silver nitrate is not very sensitive to light. You would not get an image. You would have to follow the salted paper method in order to get the paper sensitized.

Is salted paper have high resolution and same response render the colors as wet plate ?

The way it is made should place the sensitive area on the surface of the paper. Traditionally wet plates are not sensitized and respond only to UV to the blue portion of the spectrum. Same for salted paper.
