Excellent upgrade Sean, the new format looks more professional but retains the connection with the older version, therefore it is easier to navigate and browse.

Thank you very much from all of us for your hard work and contributing many hours of your time to make it easier for us to enjoy and benefit from this forum.

Analog photography and analog photographers owe you a deep sense of gratitude for bringing together film photographers from all over the world on to a common platform with all its attendant benefits and privalages.

Thank you once again Sean and God Bless.

I noticed one more thing. The APUG webpage now seems to require at least 1100 pixels (not exact number, but I have not much space left on my 13" macbook) wide window to look pro to make the menus in dark gray strip (Home, Forums, Groups, etc..) to look properly. If narrower window is used the last items (Supports Us, Mobile) will be shifted to the light gray menu (showing FAQ, New Posts, etc.. when "Forum" is selected) and will overlay with these items making both unreadable and unusable. I would prefer to get a sliding bar in bottom of the page when the widow is too narrow to show all the content.

The sliding bar only appears when window size has reached about ~ 800 pixels. However at that point the overlap of the menu items is severe.

I am running Safari 5.0.1 on OS-X 10.5.8.

We're working on that now actually, trying to fix menu and navigation issues and get to 1024px

Sean,

Wow, like the improvements. The only issue I'm having is a dialog box popping up asking me if I want to stop a script that is taking forever to load. Happens twice. If I either click Continue or Stop Script when it pops up the second time, it loads up just fine, if a bit slowly. Granted, I am using a computer that doesn't like stuff like the H.264 codec used for YouTube, etc. I'm also using a browser based on the old Mozilla 1.8.x engine (Seamonkey 1.1.19). Will have to try it in Firefox 3.6.8 or in Seamonkey 2.0.3...

Anyway, keep up the good work.

One more little thing. When I click on "my posts" I see this thread listed among them However - I am not able to click directly on the last page (8 right now) as the icon is overlapped with an icon that stands for deleted posts. It only happens when the window is too small - so it is similar as the problem I posted before.

BTW, concerning my post #77. There was probably an update. Now after decreasing the width of the window the "Mobile" and part of "Support us" hides behind the google search before the window gets a scrollbar.

And something I forgot to mention before - you guys are doing an amazing job! thank you.

Finally got around to look at the new APUG, and I'll be poring over the new stuff carefully. Congrats on the completed transition!

Regional?

I'm having difficulty finding a link from the English language front page (Forum 13 I believe) to the regional posts. I can get there by roundabout ways, but a simple link would be better for we Antipodeans, including our adoptive Kiwi webmaster.

They are basically forums, that I hope to migrate to the groups area soon. You can click "Forum" in the main menu and scroll down to see them all. Thanks

Post count. For some reason my post count loss a few numbers. Yesterday, it just went to 1800, then this morning, it showed 1798. Not a real important issue, but should not happen, right?

I can't access the bug thread, so I'm posting it here:

BUG: Clicking the right arrow to go to the first new post from the front page returns a "thread not found" error:

"No Thread specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the administrator."

Clicking on the thread title will take you to the top of the thread.

BUG: I can't access the bug thread:
(there was a url link here which no longer exists)

Linked from the bug update thread:
(there was a url link here which no longer exists)

I get the same error as above.

Also, it would be great if some configurability could be built into the front page "Top 10" to make it a "Top 20" or whatever.

No offense to all the witty characters in The Lounge, but I used to be able to make you invisible while reading the other forums. When I go to the list in My APUG, there is no list of forums in there, so I cannot choose which ones to exclude. Is this just me, or maybe not implemented yet?

Cheers, Richard

Richard:

They are still working on it.

Same problem with the German, French and Dutch forums (for me).

can you remove forced underlines from hyperlinks. They make them more difficult to read.

We had some saying the opposite. Are there any in particular? I plan to remove them from the sidebar and a few other spots but leave them in the post areas...

I dislike them all but the ones that annoy the most are the ones on the forum list page and where you list todays posts so basically all the post titles and the forum titles.

But I have to say that for consistency sake links should all identify themselves the same way. So how about some colour coding of links and visted links rather than underlines. Or bold for link and non bold for visted which I think is already happening. Underline isn't required IMO.

I can't access the bug report link in the first page of this thread.

When I click "reply to thread" it usually puts me into the quick reply box, not the full reply to thread box. I can only get there by clicking "go advanced" from the quick reply.

Will go through the css today and nuke any unnecessary linking...
