18F and 8 inches of snow.

Thirties and forties °F in the Los Angeles area tonight.

Freaking cold. -14C and tons of snow. Cloudy, icy roads and lousy drivers.
Isn't that a heatwave for Calgary:whistling::wink: Last night while I was cycling home from work, I was met with full on creatures-from-beyond-the grave fog:blink:..
.

-3C and clear at the moment; sun rises in a little over an hour. Finishing off a mug of Starbucks Christmas Blend then heading out the door with the Nikons and a half dozen rolls of PB 01/14 E100G. Will spend the daylight hours hoofing around downtown. Recourse to digital tonight to shoot at Capilano Canyon and at Lafarge - where is ISO 400, 800, 1600 E6 when you need it?

It was 51 F this morning and it's 34 now. The rain has switched to sorta snow. I doubt we'll get enough for a white Christmas, but maybe... I'm just glad I don't have to go out and get anything until at least Tuesday.

HALIFAX, CANADA

as of 12:17 AST

-12° C
PARTLY CLOUDY
feels like -21°
H -11° / L -17°
UV Index 1 of 10

Which is a hell of a lot better than it's been for the past few days where we had 120km/hr winds and driving rain.

They delayed the start of school Tuesday and Wednesday so kids didn't have to wait for busses in -15 F windchill. Friday, they completely gave up and closed school. Our high yesterday was around 7 or 8 with a -11 and below windchill. I even wore my ancient Duofold long undies under Duluth Trading cargo pants to walk the dogs. And zipped my coat! (you know it's cold when I zip my coat) We've made it up to 10 F (-12 C) today, but it's still windy.

Yep. I trekked into the office yesterday and made my way to the Mon Wharf at lunchtime. Damn cold, but I love it when the rivers freeze like this, and it doesn't happen every year.

(Digital, sorry, but this is a weather thread...)

NYC: 15F (-9.4C)
With wind chill: -3F (-19.4C)
Sunny. It’s actually pretty nice out if you’re bundled up, but I still wouldn’t want to go out and shoot photos today.

40C plus today in Sydney (104F)
Smashed out a quick roll of Portra at the (already packed) beach at 6/7am.
Got my toes wet, now (8am) back in lurking in the shadows until 7pm when the UV index drops back from 'extreme'.

Sending some sunshine to the US in the hope you can send 10 tonnes of snow back this way.

Very chilly today! Only 63 degrees F! [17 degrees C] We have to wear sweaters or fleece.

Anyone sporting temperatures around the -15C range find they have issues with their cameras in the cold? I have a lubitel who's shutter slows down/sticks open, a voigtlander bessa r3m whose led light meter won't function and of course polaroids that won't develop.

I used to have my cameras lubricated for cold weather every winter. That way I did not have cold weather shutter issues.

I didn't realize you could get that done! I will have to call my local camera repair centre and ask them if they could do that for me!

Gee, only -15F? When we lived in the Boise area they didn’t cancel school until -25F. Now that i am retired i can pull the covers over my head and ignore the world when it is that cold. :D

It hasn't gotten above +10 during the day since Jan 1, and has been dropping to -10 and colder at night with wind chills to -35. That's supposed to change tomorrow and climb to near 20. I'm breaking out my speedo and tanning lotion.

7 decrees celsius here - and nothing but rain in the forecast :pouty:

Unlike Sirius, I ant going to say anything except if you come to SoCal bring your own water and color match your socks with your tennis shoes.
