Are you surprised ?, we have a guy in charge of The Environment Agency Owen Paterson who doesn't believe global warming is causing climate change.

It actually feels like winter here tonight! Lows in the upper 30's- they had been in the mid/upper 50's recently. We had "rain" (actual raindrops for a few minutes, and later some sprinkles) a few days ago, and there's a chance of rain in the next few days.

It's lately been barely at freezing, if that, up at Big Bear (7000 feet), and right now tonight it's 9 degrees F. It would appear that currently we are having a bit of what is commonly referred to as "weather".

You know, I could say exactly the same thing ... except I'm talking Celcius.
We've just had 39.1 / 43.0 / 31.3 / 36.7 / 37.6 / 43.4 / 43.9 over the last week. Now it's currently only 27.3, it's been falling since 33.9 at midnight and it's only going to get cooler during the day, not warmer. Feels like winter in comparison...

You know what's really hard when it's this hot? Developing. I measured the 'cold' water out of my taps at 26.5C, and I was out of ice cubes. Had to put my dev in the fridge just to get it down to 24C and at least I was somewhere on the time/temp chart...

Temperature on top of the mountain is hovering just above freezing (external temperature gauge in the Beemer read 0.5C, about 45 minutes ago); forecast is for "mixed precipitation" (read: wet snow, followed by just enough rain to wash away the former) in the am. So...loaded up the F6 with some HP5+ and will either walk to the campus in the morning or, if more ambitious, head downtown and shoot the after-effects...

Well...www.theweathernetwork.com really dropped the ball on this one: no precipitation of any sort. Woke up this am to sunshine and blue skies. Temperature a crisp 2C.

Don't complain!

It was a wonderful day for a walk through the trails in Watershead Park - warm enough to leave my jacket half un-buttoned, and to operate my C330 without gloves.

Mostly cloudy and cool here. Rest of the week will be sunny and chilly. Alas, probably won't be doing much photography, since I'm currently recovering from a gout attack. So, whatever photography I do is being done from a bedroom, out the window. :-\

Supposed to be a warm up at the end of the week, which means a quick drop of snow, then rain.

Cool! Moved it over the United States and was able to see the Fraser River outflow that's causing the Pacific Northwest to be cold this week.

Thanks for posting the link.

Thanks for this very useful link and as this is turning into a permanent thread, it would help if others know of useful weather related links they could post on this thread.

And for those who haven't figured it out, click where it says "earth" on the bottom left, you can change some options, like put it into a loop, overlay temperature and pressure maps, change the projection and whatnot. And yeah, it's click-draggable like googleearth so it's not just aussie.

Annoyingly, it was working great on my laptop at work, win7 with 3gb ram and a crappy intel integrated graphics.
At home on my Hex-core phenom with 12gb of ram, proper nvidia graphics into my 2560x1440 photo monitor, it's shit slow (possibly the difference between adsl at home and fibre at work). Would have looked great at such a huge res though.
