I burned 7.5 gallons of fuel oil ($33) in 26 hours, with 2 space heaters running.

But where are you in the USA, which brings me back to the suggestion that posts should have a little map of the country on the left with a dot where they are located.

That's when I seal it all in a bag and stick it in the freezer.

Yep, I would too, except that the freezer is full of films...
(gonna take the chicken to work and throw it in the bin there, noone'll notice...)

Meanwhile, 42.3 yesterday, "only" 33 today, then 37, 40, 41, 40, 39, 33. Hottest January on record for us they reckon...

Bright sunshine, and -15f. My heat can't keep up with the demand and it's 62 in my house. Electricity went out around 5am, transformers popping from the stress. Power came back on around 5:30, popped a second time but came back straight away.

I am in Atlanta,, do i need to say more:ninja:

I just realized I have a frozen water pipe. I know it freezes around zero, so I have a small heater installed to blow into the chase where it turns up an outside wall to the second floor. After the power outage this morning, I never thought to restart the thing and it doesn't turn on automatically after power outages.

Photo from 15 years ago house across the street from my old home.
Good new we may get rain and snow in my county

-10 C. I've shut off the basement beer fridge and moved my film to the unheated sunroom (which faces north, so no sun).

+103 should it be required to register?
Even a country, state or city.

+103? No way is it that hot right now where you are, John!!

you never know, he could be holidaying down under right now...

Forecast from today: 37/40/42/43/37/40/42C.
I think they've given up predicting and are just repeating random numbers again...

Meanwhile, I see this sign all the time, but just had something pointed out to me:

You know you're in Australia, when the second-lowest is called "high" and it keeps going up past "extreme".

50 degrees now, supposed to be mid-60's tomorrow. The last drop of precipitation was December 21. Otherwise known as, it's dry.

33oF right now. That's 44oF warmer than the low a couple weeks ago. We're havin' a heatwave... a tropical heatwave... Break out the shades!

In the SE of Australia, we've emerged from a brief cool change and now working up to another infernally hot last couple of days in the week before an atrociously hot weekend. Not a good time for camping or even photography, with evening skies stained by smog. I think I will head overseas...

Tell me about it. I just got my new Fujinon 90mm SWD and all I want to do is go out to the hills and shoot some Velvia sunsets.
Not in this weather, if a bushfire doesn't get me then I'll just melt in the sun (so will the film, and my car aircon doesn't work).
One of my colleagues from work just got back from 2 weeks in Denmark. Over 40 when he left, over 40 when he got back, -10 in between...

The weather was "good" on the highway on the way home from work; temperature rose to the teens F, roads were clear, etc. Yet the Heliophobes kept slowing to 25 every time they saw the sun peek out. No, it didn't blind them... I was on the same road right behind them and could see just fine.

You might want to try Rapid Bay. I found some spectacular hills there for sunrises (make sure the brakes on your chariot work...), not all that far from Adelaide. The huge and very long jetty there makes an interesting subject, for whatever it is used for. Very pleasant place to camp too — when a gale is not blowing...

Damn straight, i've got a shack at Second Valley (which, funnily enough, is the second valley over the hill that Colonel Light named after anchoring his ship The Rapid at Rapid Bay. He wasn't very imaginative in his naming).
Haven't been there for ages, I've gotta get down there with a whole bunch of velvia and take some sunset/rise shots of all the rocks (like everyone else has done, but still, I haven't).
I know the exact places to shoot too, but I've been too busy to even get there in the last year. Good thing it's technically my mum's shack, she takes care of it at least.

Too bad they demolished half of the old jetty at rapid bay, used to get some good fish off the end there when we were kids.

Meanwhile, I saw a newsbreak tonight while eating dinner that they're going to demolish the chimney at the old Port Stanvac Refinery tomorrow. Grabbed a few holders, camera, threw it all in the car and burned off there, but by the time I was there it was already too dark. 20 mins earlier would have been a great shot. Sunrise 633am tomorrow, maybe I'll get out of bed early and take the last shot of it before it's gone.

83F yesterday, today cooler with a chance of rain. Rain would be a good thing.

I'd be more than happy to send you some of ours!:D

We'll take it! :D

Rainy but warm the last few days. Today 80F and mostly sunny, as it usually is.
