Good quality black (or dark) t-shirt and hat would be great. Anything but white. Everything white comes out of my wash looking like I spilled coffee on it. I'm sure I have but not on every white t-shirt

Sean,
As I mentioned in an earlier post. My wife has the equipment and software to do custom embroidery. Its not really heavy duty (meaning don't order hundreds), but we can do shirts and I think she has a special hoop for hats. We have a source for inexpensive shirts (golf, denim, button-up). Let me know how much interest and estimated quanities and I'll work up prices with a nice apug cut.
Steve

I would CERTAINLY check this out!!

Embroidered ... instant CLASS! - an well worth any extra $$ - or whatever!
Also, we would be able to have a white logo on a black shirt.

Would this not fall into the category of digital representation?

If Steve and his wife did this, for those of us who want a bit different type of shirt, could we supply Steve with a shirt to have his wife embrioder? I personally don't want a mens style T-Shirt, A golf shirt is a bit better, but what about a ladies V Neck type of a T-Shirt? Or even a denium shirt. The possibilities could be more open. Then we could also choose the color we wanted it in.

Good idea, Aggie! (BTW, girl... you'll have to remember to change your 'location' after the move)

I've been waiting for this! I even have a relatively simple design ready to submit! Hey! I was associated with the Boy Scouts! I'm prepared! :D

I too am looking for those lost souls who are thinking of jumping ship and going digital. A simple statement would open up conversation with total strangers. Think of the possibilities!

Good point!

My vote goes for Steve Sherman's, "Real photographs are born wet!"

Sean's asking for design submissions as we speak;

(there was a url link here which no longer exists)

I'm in for a couple of T-shirts at least, possibly a hat or two if the hats are cloth, NOT nylon mesh and have a cardboard brim insert, NOT plastic (can you spell "Bubba"?).

I know, I know - I'm a fussy old SOB, but... I'd pay extra for higher quality product that will last me for some years.

For Alan

Alan, Part of my Creative Services biz is as an ASI distributor (Advertising Specialty Institute). I have catalogs from hundreds of suppliers including clothing.Your beanie below
A selection of colors with a unifying design that would apply to a range of colors would I think, be ideal. With clothing though, the price breaks are in sizes and by dozen. I.e. If I order 13 large shirts, I pay dozen price and then single price for the odd one.

I can also get jackets, denim, golf shirts, hats (FlexTight®), Beanies, berets, stocking hats (Zion baby!), microfleece, leather jackets, bags of all types..etc.

I'll work up some stuff when I get a chance.
Tees with one color imprint would run about $6-7 and about a buck and a half more per extra color imprint.
Some garment dyed swatches below..Again, Sizes, quantities and colors dictate price.

Embroidery costs by the stitch, but for a golf shirt or jacket definitely the best way. We'll let magic handle that unless I can do better in price.

I'll submit a cost with colors, design, etc, again, asap.

I was thinking of Flexfit® for hats, not flextight.

These are a bit more, but have a strecth fit vs. the awful plastic tab thing in back or velcro.
Very comfy and no "porthole" in back. Those of us who are follicly impaired appreciate this style.

Matt, you do know what a propeller head is?

Yes..... Black..... 2...... I like the "got film" for the back...

Anything other than baeball caps?? My "Bighead" looks silly in those things.

Enlighten me Aggie...

I think we should keep this simple. To offer all sorts of colors and styles would be a bit much at first. Once an embroidery tape is made, or screens made, they can be applied to a variety of items.

APUG.ORG, then how about;

Develop Your Potential! or

We Like It Wet! or

Silver Halide Crystal Addict!

Term to refer to computer geeks and before anyone gets on me for calling them geeks here is the definition of a geek: a geek is someone who gets paid, a nerd doesn't!

I think "Luddite Elitists Online" is a bit more ironic. As I recall Ole cop'd the line from my ebay auction which I stole from an insult hurled by a photo.net cur -- so I suspect it is pretty much public domain.

That gets two thumbs up from me!!

Another thought I had regarding the mechanics of this thing.

If there were an online catalog of acceptable (Sean &/or Moderators) phrases or mottos or punch lines, then one could send the garmet of his/her choice to a designated seamstress for those mottos, etc. Cost would be based on the number of mottos selected and size which you would find in the catalog

A couple of golf shirts and a hat of course (gotta cover up that forehead that is trying to meet the back of my neck  )

Not a bad idea...once a design (or several) are chosen, they could be placed on the server for download (subscribers only) and individuals could get their own stuff done. Of course more pricey though.

For photographers - Maximum Black. Really opaque. solid matte black. Useful not only as dark cloths, but tend to become less apparent in reflections from glass - windows, etc.

Another for models..? Made of "veiling" - "voile"? - whatever that stuff is in my "Nude #31".

Just kidding!
If they are made of really opaque, solid matte black material they could be used as makeshift changing bags in an emergency.

May I suggest an embroidered patch. As someone who wears neither baseball caps nor t-shirts, a simple embroidered patch/badge could be easily sewn on to any suitable garment without requiring one to dress in a certain way...

Love the Luddite Elitists Online (LEO) tag!

Cheers, Bob.

I don't like the "Luddite Elitist" personally because I am not an enemy of technology. I chose analog photography because I like it for many reasons not because I hate anything digital (I am too much involved into technology to state otherwise).
But I like:

We all live in an analog world
