Along with being a gear-head, I seem to collect not only photo stuff, but also t-shirts. preferably black. Would there be any interest out there in cyberland for an Apug t-shirt? 100% cotton of course & definitely black. Is there room for discussion on this? It could go nicely with those comfortable boots, no?

cheers............dorothy

I've been thinking about this too.
I actually was going to design it, and as a distributor, purchase the shirts in bulk at wholesale and see if there was an interest. Purchase price would be contingent upon the amount of interest.
The more ordered, the less costly.

So I guess I would take this on if the interest spawns....
Be good to have them for the conference, someone could sell them there or make it part of the registration fee so everyone got one.

Don't think I would do black though...Earthy neutral colors.
A cool design, catchy tagline maybe, APUG logo (is there one?).

Let's see what Sean says.

And baseball caps!

Keeping it simple is probably the best way to go, like APUG.ORG in the same style as Sean's original logo at the top of the page.

Embroidered Golf or Denim shirts anyone? I can get Denim shirts done for about $25 a piece, golf shirts for about $18-20. We could even set it up so Apug gets a cut.

Any takens in that?

I'd be interested in a shirt. I would like black, though. Helps the logo and/or debonair catch-phrase stand out.

Also, I prefer black shirts.

I'm not overly fond of black t-shirts, but the idea is a good one. And a shirt in black and white would be fitting (sic)... I would deffinitely buy a hat!!! And that would be better in black...

And by the way, would any of this money make it to APUG???

Matt would be good to use for the tee shirts and Steve would be good for you older-golf-shirt-wearing types

I'll also add my vote for black. Also for a black beanie. Matt, can you get beanies?

This is why I want an APUG or APUG.ORG shirt and baseball cap- - -I picture myself walking through a crowd at a community event, out grocery shopping, swilling in a bar, or walking down the street and I spot somebody else wearing an APUG shirt or hat. That would be SO COOL! Out of the billions of people on this planet, here is one absolute stranger I instantly KNOW shares my passion...

I don't think any extra statements/slogans/sayings on the shirt or hat are necessary...all I need to see is APUG or APUG.ORG and I know I've found a friend

Black Tee shirts would be cool. But of course, the shirt HAS to have a pocket on it for the cigarettes, darkslides, lenscaps, etc.

Must be black - otherwise they can't be used as darkcloths. That's about all I use T-shirts for anyway, so I never know what to do with the non-black ones!

For photographers - Maximum Black. Really opaque. solid matte black. Useful not only as dark cloths, but tend to become less apparent in reflections from glass - windows, etc.

Another for models..? Made of "veiling" - "voile"? - whatever that stuff is in my "Nude #31".

Just kidding!

I too am looking for those lost souls who are thinking of jumping ship and going digital. A simple statement would open up conversation with total strangers. Think of the possibilities! Meeting, as you said, strangers who share my passion. I could see a caricature (sp?) simple line drawing in white on black with a logo and web address. Maybe a cartoon of someone with a 4X5? And everyone knows photographers wear black. I'll bet I'd find a lot of new friends.

Sign me up for a golf shirt and a baseball cap.

I'm too old and fat to wear a T-shirt, black or otherwise.

Sean,

As I mentioned in an earlier post. My wife has the equipment and software to do custom embroidery. Its not really heavy duty (meaning don't order hundreds), but we can do shirts and I think she has a special hoop for hats. We have a source for inexpensive shirts (golf, denim, button-up). Let me know how much interest and estimated quanities and I'll work up prices with a nice apug cut.
