I am having some difficulty finding a flange for a 39 x 28 TPI thread on an old Compur shutter. I have an LTM retaining ring and it definitely does not fit the shutter. I have calipered the major thread diameter to 39mm and measured the TPI with a Gage-It hardware gauge.

Perhaps I am not using the correct terminology when googling?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

the Leica thread is 26 tpi not 28. The Bergeil pre-dates the Leica camera by quite a long time so is unlikely to use LTM threads.

Compur shutters are metric threads. 28tpi is .9mm per thread; 26 tpi is .97 mm per thread.
Standard metric thread pitch is .4,.5, .6, .7, .75, .8, 1.0, 1.25, 1.5 millimeters per thread.

Looking at the Compur service manual from the 50's-60's only 1 shutter uses a 39mm OD mount thread and it is a .8 thread pitch. It is used on a Voigtlander Bessamatic as well as other makes of cameras.

Best advice is probably to find a hobbyist engineer who has a good lathe and ask them to make you one.

Due to budget constraints that option is strictly last resort.

Thanks, this gives me more info to goole with.

Are you sure ?
No. My print version shows 2 Bessamatic with CN-1110-035 as the base shutter with CN-1110-000 as an alternative parts breakdown.
Shutter specs plate 7 shows CN-1110-035 to be a Compur 00 with a M46, 1.0 mount
Shutter specs page 1 shows CN-1110-000 to be a Synchro Compur 00 with a M25, .5 mount.
Shutter specs page 1 shows CN-1110-020 a Synchro Compur 00 with a M39 .8 mount.
Shutter specs page 2 shows CN-1207-000 a Synchro Compur #1 with a M39 .75 mount.

I was rushed earlier by the arrival of a new to me D300 that I had to sign for.

Careful measurement is in order.

I suspect you might be reading the drawings incorrectly (unless the drawings I'm looking at are totally wrong).

CN-1110-035
- A quick change bayonet mount, 46.1ø

CN-1110-000
- Threaded mount, M32.5x0.5 (the CN-1110-010 is a #00 with an M25x0.5 mount)

CN-1110-020
- Bayonet mount, 39.8ø

CN-1207-000 - Can't find this one (unless it is a typo for CN-1307-000)
