You should take some pictures and verify the repair job. I’m looking forward to your results. If the sound change doesn’t bother you then all is well. If you can’t live with the sound and want more like original, replacing with open-cell foam like the factory Nikon material is easy (if you are at least moderately handy and have decent fine motor skills).
The sound doesn’t bother me at all.
I’m already shooting film with the F2…!

Well, just got the flash drive of the drum scans from Blue Moon Camera.
Film camera with the Nikkor 28mm f/2.8 AI-s lens.
Left is film (Blue Moon) and right is digital (Leica MD)…!

But what is there to do if everything works just fine? Sure, one could just pull a Jiffy Lube on every camera he owns and do pre-dated CLA's no matter how it behaves, how much it was used, and how long it typically lasts without any CLA. And CLA is no guarantee that one will not poop out shortly into post CLA use.

How do you know if it is working 'just fine'? Most people nowadays do not have a clue when something is going wrong in say a car. it may work just fine but in the unexpected crucial moment when you need all the braking the system can give, it could fail with catastrophic results. I suggest that the same, possibly even more lack of knowledge will be with a camera body. That is why regular servicing is desirable. A camera failing will not usually be as dramatic, but a failure/repair when it is least needed could be more expensive in the long run.

When I bought my Nikon F2a which I will say looks virtually as new. That camera was at least 42 years old. I had it in for a check to see if anything needed adjusting lubricating and fortunately it was OK. Meter accuracy, shutter speeds and even the points that need occasionally lubricating were all fine so I can now use it with confidence for a good while to come and know it works as well as it looks.

I feared as much. What conclusions do you draw yourself?

They both render differently. Film shows more color and less detail whilst digital is more consistent and detailed.
I like them both…!

I thought the intent was to show that the NikonnF2 is now repaired, a comparison to your initial images where the F2 was wonky.

If it’s really an AvD comparison then you have a lot of experimentation to go before you can rightfully draw any conclusions. And don’t waste your time…

The results from the Nikon F2 after the CLA were noticeable and compared them with the Leica MD 262…!

To recap on what I feel the main differences are between digital and film are…
Film has better dynamic range.
Digital has more accurate color…!

Ektachrome shot with premium Nikkor primes using the proper warming and cooling filters may change your mind.
The MD shows accurate colors (more realistic) without filters or processing!
I use Ektar 100 for landscape photography…!

A musician (vinyl lover) friend once told me even though he loves music played on records (analogue), digital is more accurate with pitch…!

Before the CD was invented did you have a turntable and vinyl records? Did you use film camera then? The way you talked about film sound like you didn't have either one of them back in their days.

I’ve been listening to vinyl since the 70’s and shooting film before digital cameras existed.
I listen to vinyl at home with an extensive audiophile record collection. I do have a great CD player also, but like the sound of vinyl more.
I just bought the Leica MD 262 two months ago.
Digital is much cheaper for me!
I still shoot film but it’s very expensive to develop at Blue Moon Camera. Blue moon does optical printing that cost more, no digital in the printing. Main reason I invested in a digital camera. The cost for everything, film, processing, premium scans and shipping costs over $100 not counting a three week wait…!
