Not sure if you out there in large format land are into this but I thought some of you might enjoy it. Was not sure where to put this on APUG but since it is large format related I am posting it here. Hope that is OK.

A bit of back story. I was recently in Asia, working on my "Forgotten Laughter" photographic series. The video is of Burmese young people and children (Karen ethnic group mostly) who live and work in a garbage dump playing with my view camera. I would show them how to use it and then get them to look under the dark cloth etc. This was great fun : )) Everyone was amazed at how upside down the world looked! At the end of the vid am TRYING (not too successfully) to ask the children's names and ages.

Note* The camera is a older Linhof 5x7 with carbon fiber Gitzo tripod and a 210mm Schneider lens on it.

Thanks Gerry

I enjoyed that. It was nice to see the kids have a bit of fun.
I have to admit that before I watched the video I was expecting to see some kids playing with a 5x7 that someone had thrown in the trash, so i was pleasantly surprised.

Thanks for sharing.

They got such a kick out of it, like something from outer space had landed. They all learned very quickly. dark cloth, cable release, cocking the lens shutter all became second nature in seconds. Lots of different lower quality vids on my blog if your interested.

Thanks Gerry
