Fuji representatives in Europe have had some Velvia 50 in 1135 format last week, and made it available. No idea however, how many rolls, and is this new production or old stocks from the big freezer somewhere in Japan... I wouldn´t say it is game over for Fuji fils yet. They are still spending quite a lot of money in maintaining their brand, even though it means even selling Kodak and Ilford films.

Yes, film is a legacy product for Fuji and probably not the most profitable one, but to be frank, this is also the situation with Eastman Kodak. Both are involved in other sectors of chemical industry they make most of their revenue. Still. companies are luckily not managed by mindless robots (yet). So there is still hope even for us shooting slides.

I just can't imagine how Fuji doesn't make money on film. The obvious reason to me is that they just can't keep up with Instax. Also I'm sure that Fujifilm is no different than the rest of the world, trying to woo young talent to work on something like film is difficult.
