... Is the concentrate a liquid like Rodinal or is it more of a syrup like HC-110? And how do the final results compare to Ilfosol/Ilfotec PQ developers? Thanks!
It's film only developer. B/W negative developer is written on the bottle.Directions say that Ultrafin is a "universal" developer for both film and paper and that dilutions range from 1+10 to 1+30. I would imagine that the former is for paper.
It does appear to be an MQ developer from the MSDS.
Doremus
Very good quality for slow and medium speed films. Try and use the more dilute options. I've found 1+24 works well.
Do you remember how viscous it is? Is it more like a syrup or a liquid?

More of a liquid.
Thanks! What are its keeping properties? Do you use it as a one-shot, or for multiple rolls? There's not too munch information in the Spec Sheet available from Freestyle.
I still slowly using the bottle opened about 9 months ago. When the solution starts to discolour I'll no longer use it.

Ultrafin must be stored in a cool place, it will go bad relatively quickly, if it is yellow, everything is too late. Normally it is transparent with a violet shimmer, discoloration begins with a slightly yellowish tone.
The problem with Ultrafin is that there had been various compounds offered by Tetenal over the years bearing that name, at least two in parallel, being basically different developers:
Ultrafin und Aktivator , Ultrafin-Flüssig
Ultrafin-Flüssig , Ultrafin
Ultrafin Plus , Ultrafin SF Powder , Ultrafin Liquid
currently
Ultrafin , Ultrafin T-Plus
