ttl meter for Pentax 6X7 problem

Just bought a beautiful ttl prism for my old Pentax 6X7 (it seemed a good idea!) but although it looks good and fits nice, I can't get it to turn on. The switch moves a little toward on or off but won't show a reading. Battery seems okay in the camera and understand it is supposed to be running off the camera battery but have no instructions. Can someone give some directions or a website to look up the answer. Thanks

Here is the manual for the TTL Pentraprism for the 67, not sure how close this is to yours but it might help.

Pentax has a really incredible collection of manuals on their site, but for whatever reason, I can't find any metered prism that predates this one.
