Team,

I have a Hasselblad Auto Bellows ref. # 40517 (newer style, the one usually sold with the 135 CF)
It can unfortunately not be mounted directly to a tripod... I therefore need an adapter or rapid coupling plate.

Do you know what is a compatible adapter? Will the rapid coupling plate # 45144 work?

I also saw this guy, could be an option perhaps... (but 2-3 times more expensive)

Thanks,
Etienne

45144 will work, or 45128, but bottom plate should have standard screw mount 3/8" (with 1/4" insert) that would mount to any tripod plate.

Alternate solution would be to mount Arca compatible QR plate to the bottom of mounting plate, if that is a system you run on your tripods. There are Arca plates meant for Hasselblad plates built to better align and keep aligned once mounted.

Thanks for the information! and welcome to this forum

I don't do Arca. I'll try the 45144/45128 (whatever I find).
Tripod is one thing, but my main use is for my film scanning rig where the camera is mounted in stead of my enlarger head. I've mounted the body of the camera (907x + XV adapter + extension rings + 135mm) on it so far, but I expect better mechanical stability if I mount the bellows onto the enlarger.

Tripod us is cherry on the cake, though.

In that case I don't see how you need to wait on the tripod plate when you will still have same problem mounting it to the column? Bellows bottom plate has tripod mounting built in, it's part of the mounting plate, so you can just screw it in just like you will have to on 45144 ?

It's at the same time a very simple and a very stupid problem: the screw on my enlarger has one diameter and cannot be changed... and it does not match the diameter of the bellows screw hole. The 45144 has both diameters (1/4 and 3/8 I guess). Stupid, isn't it?

My bellows has 1/4 insert in the 3/8 hole, doesn't yours? And if the 1/4 reducer is missing, they are easy enough to get.

I use the Arca-Type Compatible tripod plates with Double-Dovetail Design for my Nikon and Hasselblad bodies and lenses. I have never had a problem with the Arca-Type tripod plates.
