Touble finding a black cloth hood for camera

I am looking for a black cloth hood for my camera. I can't seem to find one anywhere. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

I've always made my own. You can get some thick fabric in most towns, I actually used some old velvet curtains which I dyed black for my first.

A black or dark colored very large t-shirt works well, something like a xx-large or bigger. You put your head through the neck hole and pull the body of the shirt over the back of the camera.
Or else a couple of yards of fabric as Ian suggests. If you want to get really fancy buy two lengths of cloth, one dark and one light and sew them together (or have them sewed). The light side will keep you cooler when you're working in bright sunlight.

Make your own or buy a ready made, here are a couple of tips. Weight the bottom edge with a couple of fishing weights to keep it from flapping in the wind and attach Velcro to part of the top edge with a couple of adhesive opposing Velcro spots to the top of the camera which will hold that edge from slipping while you are focusing/adjusting tilts etc.

I used a black Harley Davidson throw I picked up for one dollar at a thrift shop for several years. I got a deal on a Black Jacket focus cloth. last year, love it. You can make your own similar to it with a black pull over sweatshirt.

I made my own from fabric I bought at Joanne's Fabric, and while it did the job, it was far from ideal. I gave in a couple months ago and bought "a real one" and find it much more satisfactory. Its half the weight and bulk of the fabric I bought, it has a silver side to reflect heat from the sun (so you don't cook under the hood) and strategically placed velcro so you can keep it where it belongs: over the camera. I got one from B&H and it was $73, including shipping.
If you have to do the job on a tight budget, I can understand that. But if you can afford $72 to get a GOOD one that is designed for the job, then I would recommend you do so. Essentially, I paid about half the cost of a good dark cloth to get a piece of black fabric that turned out to be much less than ideal. I wish I'd just bought the real deal the first time.

I bought one and it was more like a dim cloth, it is so thin it lets a lot of light in. I gave up and wnet back to my home made dark cloth.

I made mine by sewing together a black curtain material with a white blackout liner for a curtain. I went to Fanny's fabric for the material. About $10 bucks for the material. I used the same white curtain black out liner to make my darkroom door light proof.

I'm not the right one to speak on this topic. I use a 4x5 rangefinder.

But when I do use my view camera, I use a black t-shirt. The head opening snaps over the ground glass nicely.

There was a thread here a couple of years ago,and someone mentioned a "window darkening cloth" available at Target. n It was in the widow treatment section. I bought one and it works great, it is pretty much opaque, white on one side black on the other, and if I remember right it was under $15.00. Has worked well for me.
