Oh you have no idea! It is tad bit hard to focus when full open (DOF is rather shallow and there was not much light where I took those pictures) but if you nail the focus where you want it to be, it is completely out of this world!
Got mine for only 300€, that is some 400 american. Money damn well spent. This lens will get a lot of hours in front of a camera! And this is the old Grandagon, without the fancy green stripe!
Good luck finding and buying one!

I used TP for years till it was discontinued. I mostly shot it at 20asa for pictorial use and souped it in D-76 1:1. For high contrast I shot at 200asa with a red filter and souped it in Dektol paper developer for 4-6 minutes.

One thing I find interesting is that people will pay hundreds of dollars to get a few rolls of expired Tech Pan on eBay. You can get Rollei ATP1.1 for $6.99 a roll from Freestyle. This film based on my use of it is identical to Kodak's Tech Pan. The only difference is it is rated at 32asa but when I shoot it at 20asa I get the same results as I got from Tech Pan..

Tech pan has cult fame, probably thats why. I got my stockpile for 100€ and to be honest, I bought it because it was cheap and the results are interesting enough. Should last me a decade!

I have limited experience with Rollei but the QC is nowhere near Kodaks, are you sure it's the same? Even the same grain (or lack of?.

I would be wary with the QC, too. If it is that Agfa Copex stuff, it might be good. It is no Tech Pan but it is good. I'd be wary, Rollei/Maco packing methods are horrible, film comes often scratched.

I get the same results. Grainless images with ultra smooth tonality. I even get the same results when shooting for high contrast and developing in Dektol..

I've still got 2 bricks of Kodak Tech Pan in the freezer and have done comparision shots between them with like results. I don't shoot the Rollei film at its rated 32asa. Instead I shoot at 20asa..

I've never seen this and I have purchased quiet a few rolls. All have been scratch free with no issues whatsoever..

I just finished a roll of Rollei RPX in 120, film had numerous scratches running on the base for the whole length of the film. And not the first time Rollei labelled film has been scratched for me. But as I stated before, I have enough TP to last for ages hehe

I've not had scratching issues as much as the emulsions seem blotchy, I've only used the IR film and it's hard to describe but the grain us extremely blotchy... Even on 6x7 it's very noticeable, see...
