The very first thing I did any time I bought a new camera or lens the first thing I did was strip off that little gold sticker. Sometimes I think I might be the only one who did/does that.

I thought they were like the tags on mattresses and pillows... illegal to remove!
Possibly illegal to sell new without them but once you own it, you can do what you like with it.
I always remove them - they look horrible.
Steve.
Do you mean the "Passed" sticker ?
For years (I was a teenager then) I believed it indicated a better quality![]()

Removed sticker mungy remaining adhesive's enemy is a product called 'goo gone'.
Um... My Holga has TWO. How much better is that?
What's the story with those stickers? Were they a global industry agreement?

What's there to pass on a Holga?
"Sir, we checked and the lens has some diffraction issues, there's light leaks around the back, the focus is incorrect, and the shutter seems to be the same no matter which setting...."
"Pass!"
