I tried to order the book as well, but it seems that I could not receive it unless I had Amazon Prime.
That's too bad, I didn't realize it was a Prime-only deal.

I was going to order the Moriyama book but decided to wait.
It's brand new, should be around for a while - and maybe even at a lower price in the future.

Is it me or are photobook prices out of control?
In other, more personal, photobook news, just received the two Mark Ruwedel books I ordered from Mack, Rivers Run Through It and The Western Edge. Got his Seventy-Two and One Half Miles Across Los Angeles, also from Mack, a few months ago.
Really like his work.
Is it me or are photobook prices out of control? I just saw a post from Gost Books that the new Don McCullin book, The Stillness of Life, is now available. The book is 112 pages with 58 images. The Standard edition is $100! When did a basic photo book cross the $100 threshold?
I bought the book. A bit disappointing for me.New Avedon collection coming out this Wednesday, from Phaidon. Richard Avedon Immortal: Portraits of Aging, 1951-2004.
I probably have many of these photos in various other Avedon books, but will end up buying it anyways...

The good, the bad and the beautiful: how the great photographer Richard Avedon captured ageing
From a joyful Gloria Swanson to the Windsors looking scared, Avedon spent much of his career shooting the old, the wizened and the wise – uncovering the contradictions of the heartwww.theguardian.com
Finally got my copy of Blake Andrews's Asa Nisi Masa from Eyeshot.
Paid for in May and promised delivered in August/September - got it yesterday.
The pictures are great and very smart of course - as expected.
I already have a few of his prints, a unique handmade book and a zine but I am super happy to now have a good larger selection of his photographs.
Unfortunately the book was only available for preorder.
No additional copies printed and according to Eyeshot - no reprints will be made. I find this unfortunate for the artist that only those who are willing to preorder get a chance, but hopefully other publishers will notice and make a more accessible book of his work.
According to the title page, 385 copies were printed of this one.
The book execution is nothing to write home about - very average printing quality - and Eyeshot's phoney exclusivity lingo and overflow of superlatives about the amazing paper, print and craftsmanship as well as environmental concern polishing their own halo makes my stomach turn.
I strongly dislike the Eyeshot way of doing stuff, but it is the only way to get Blake Andrews' first real book - I have been a fan of his since 2008 and happy that he now has something in print.
I bought the book. A bit disappointing for me.
I found the reproduction to be average, most of the photos familiar and the subject matter depressing (probably because of my age).Sorry to hear that.
The "Immortal" exhibition is coming to Montreal in February. I might wait until then to buy the book... or not.
