For all those fan bois who claim this is not an issue, email from Leica. Remember when they claimed only a tiny # of M9s had defective sensors? Well, take this 'small batch' in that spirit...

Received? From where? If it was China they will have no problems? Maybe Eastern Europe.

Just got an email that the M6 will be sent back to me today. They claim it is fixed. My level of trust is zero, but at least now I will have it in my possession and if there is anything wrong with it I'm just going to return it to the dealer. And get a charge back on my CC.

Nice! The F80 is a fantastic camera. And the Pop is fun. Now, I'll of course add my opinion here but if you don't already have a Pop, and are looking to get one, check out the C35 EF3. It is the Konica Pop, except with a better/faster lens and you can focus it. They cost the same money on ebay etc. The one flaw on the Pop and C35 EF3 is the flashes often are dead. With mine ( I have two) the flash is dead on one, fine on the other. It seems years on non-use does that. I tried the trick of turning the flash on (with batteries in the camera of course) for literally days, but it did not bring it back to life.

What is super nice about the Pop/EF3 is even though they are plastic cameras, they are not light weight. They have this density to them which makes them feel so good in hand, and the VF is great. Big but(t) here - these are nice outdoor daylight cameras. The exposure range is very limited - the shutter only goes down to 1/60 sec!!! So these are not cameras for dawn/dusk shooting.

Mine:

There is a seller on ebay who has custom light seal kits for the Pop/EF3. You will need that unless it has been recently changed. I tried to make my own but on this camera was not successful as it has many kinks.

How is the Konica pop? I don’t have a point and shoot. Love Kohima glass.

Konica pop is fun to use. No focus, 2 different F stops (by changing ISO dial, and activating flash - with no batteries). Quality is better than expected, pretty good, much better than some Lomo or single use camera.

I ran another roll of film through my just returned M6. Pulled it out, examined it.

FIXED.

They also fixed the ISO dial. It now points to actual marked film speeds.

I am just grateful that this was an easy, quick and hassle free process.

So this is great. Just try and get past the 3-4 months you've been screwing around with this. Jeez this mess takes the cake. I'm sure you will enjoy the camera.

After two years of rumors, wild speculation and intense market buzz, It is finally here.

https://leica-camera.com/en-US/photography/cameras/m/m6

I like it. It reminds me of my first M6....looks just like it without the quirks.

Nice work Leica!

.....really nicely done. But 5k is allready a small weight.
And 10k are allready a little more to carry
( + 35mm f/1.4 Summilux )....🥴

5 bulk rolls Delta 100 on the top :

I got an email from Leica Manchester, they have a M6, new, in stock. I got mine from Rangefinder HK so I'm good. Not sure I can tell the difference between the Leica and a Kodak Retina I bought for 60 bucks. 😅

Sure is pretty, (so is the Retina).

Another member contacted me and said Leica Manchester refused to sell him one, saying they were no longer allowed to sell cameras to US buyers.

Weird.

Weird.

I bought my M6 from Rangefinder HK, not any less than buying from US sellers. I don't know what the official policy is. All I received was notice I didn't try to purchase. I haven't bought anything on Ebay or camera related in over 3 weeks. Saving money for property taxes that come due in September, assessment went up 22%. Yikes

Weird.

Weird, I just went most of the way through their online order service for an MP, put in my US shipping address, was given a shipping quote for 'DHL Express Shipping USA', but just stopped short of entering my CC number to pay. Unless they reject the order after it's placed, it seemed like it was going to go through.

FWIW, cost was about $600 less than buying from a US dealer, assuming no duties are charged after the fact.
