Love the new look and feel, Sean! Congrats on the new site.

One request I do have - any chance the page button can be made darker/different colour when looking at the posts on a specific page?

I think previously, it was a darker grey(?), so that you could see what page you're on; at the moment, they all appear to be the same colour and when I'm looking through all the "New Posts", if I forget which page I'm on, it's annoying when you go back and repeat or too far forward and miss some posts.

A small detail, but it was one that stood out when I was working my way through today and forgot what page I was on (that's multi-tasking for you!!)

Look to the left of the page numbers and you will see something like "Page 5 of 5".

I agree though that it would be nice to have the old bolded page number as well.

Thanks. I'm not 100% sure what you mean. Is it the blocks "1 2 3 4 5 Go to First Unread"? On my screen they a grey on white background. I might need to check on other screens.

Bug report.

Search returns link. Clicking on the link, it opens not the forum page but login request which doesn't work.

Sean, here's another little quirk I've noticed. When I'm on the main page, the "new" tab on the main bar will tell me how many new posts there are. But when I'm in a thread, or typing a new post (like this one), those numbers disappear. It's not a big deal but it'd be nice if they were always there until I hit "mark all new posts as read".

@Truzi We have at least 4-6 weeks of refining ahead of us
In that case, consider the following comments as votes for the appropriate list items, lol. I don't expect anything to be "perfect" for a while - I know there is still a lot of work planned.

Most of my feedback is probably related to the nature of the new software, so I don't know if much can be done, and it is mostly minor at this point. It may simply be the price of admission, though I hope not.
- There seems to be a lot of space and less text per screen-area.
- The pop-up information layers are a bit annoying, but may be only to me. I can tell I posted something when I click the button and the page changes - yet the page feels compelled to tell me anyway, lol.
- It is annoying to have to confirm that I want to mark all posts read, and to have to move my mouse so far to log-off (I'm lazy).
- I miss the "New" posts link being on the left, next to "Today's Posts." Add "Mark All Read," and those are the features I use the most on APUG.

Being able to change these things in my profile settings would be great.
The software itself seems very concerned with form, which is fine so long as function does not suffer.

Overall, I like it.
The social media features are not something I use, so really have no input on that. I really don't care if somebody "likes" me. New terminology is easy to get used to - though does remind me of the Hitchhiker's Guide "access standby" switch
I really like how the resource/article pages are formatted, with the discussion a separate tab.
The text-input areas seem more responsive.
The pages seem quicker.

It like that you made it look a lot like the old site, much how I like that the controls in my car don't change when I'm sleeping.

Funny, those numbers are staying for me now.

Edit: Nope! They disappeared after I posted.

Thanks Truzi, some good info. Basically we can do almost anything we like with the software. I too find a few things I don't like and will be changing, but we will work through them over the next few weeks. It's been hard to guess what will work or not until going live. Now we sort through that. I hope overall the community understands we're still adjusting many things. I have had the occasional "well this s^$&^! i'm outta here!" over the years during these types of upgrades. All they had to do was give us some time. Thanks again.

I'm a bit of a luddite with this stuff; however, I can't find a search that incorporates the Classifieds.

Is this the place to post feedback?
Desktop, site is MUCH easier to read, looks great!

AS I am going through I am seeing little things. There doesn't appear to be a tiny button to go to first unread post on main page.

Do you want us to tell you stuff like that?

EDIT: [New] seems to be a big tabbed thing inside the Today's posts link, that will work! Its got a couple of other table that I am not sure I understand but anyway, New posts off my list of requests.
the link now resides under the username so click "3 minutes ago" and you're there:

Sean, I will wait to report squawks until you can catch up on the roll out work. The last thing you need is more assignments on things that you will clear up anyway with the rest of the roll out.

You can use the advanced search for now, just click the search box and select, then you get a page where you can select forum to search

I will add a better search link in the forums and classifieds soon..

Thanks; however, I still can't find it a link to the classifieds the "regular" scrolling options.

Perhaps this is linked to the Subscriber-only posting classifieds rule?

Thanks for running a great site. I was already half inclined to subscribe, then I saw you had disabled Tapatalk and I was sold!
Intrusive nagware on so many forums that adds no value.

Actually I missed the search function, please read here: (there was a url link here which no longer exists)

basically the search box becomes the search tool for that forum or thread you are in..

Great job.

Is there a way to turn off the red chat notification flag? Would be nice to not see an alert that you're not going to typically check out.
