Re: the Sidebar - any chance of providing a hint on what the numbers mean - I prefer it on the right side (being left handed and using a tablet computer sometimes.
noted, we'll make that more clear and give options for right/left

*update, sidebar can be removed in settings

I just found a complete new listing: "Notable Members"

hmm I do realise it can be seen as just a bit of fun, but it does tend to indicate a "hierarchy" of membership in which some of us are "notable" and others not.

One of the tendencies of forums is for core groups to form and become exclusive rather than inclusive (it's a human anthropological thing, I think, and far from restricted to internet)

It's not clear what useful purpose it really serves

It just lists those with the largest post count - boy do I spend too much time here!

yes, i quite realise that, but having a large post count doesn't make one "notable" except for having a large post count. I can think of one (former) member with a very large post count who was notable only for being a complete d!ck ...

Haven't adjusted that page yet but will soon, I agree, post count is no 'status' here..

The "Quote" function is a bit clumsy for making a single quote (quite neat for making a multiquote though). Better to have a button each for multi and single I reckon.

Looks like single quote is done with the Reply button on each post.

I guess, once one has looked at it one is done with it. (And yes, its designation could better be neutral, but then the fun would be gone...)
In the old version there was a feature "SPY" one likely only used once.

EDIT: its designation can be changed and still be funny. (see two posts further)

Well "notable" isn't appropriate, "most addicted" might be.

I do like the ability though to find out more about how the members here interact with the site. We used to be able to do that, and it was interesting.

Maybe are we asking too much, and maybe it's an egocentric thing , but I don't see the way of displaying my own posted images in the old Gallery... (the My images feature)

I agree, but only because it makes it easier to find stuff we have already uploaded.

This is now double posted as I think maybe I should have put it here instead of in its own topic. Anyhow...

Is there any way to stop the pop up when you mouseover topic titles? I find this very annoying, especially as it always shows only first post in topic and not last. (but I'd prefer to be able to switch it off altogether).

RobC - that showed in the old one, too. I like it as there are frequently threads that the title doesn't really help me know what it's about. The first post at hover lets me safely ignore threads about stuff I'm not that interested in.

How to find out whether a moderator is online? (To send a PM, in cases a !-report is not necessary.)
Or should that Report Feature be used in not-spam/harrasment cases too?

In the past one could look up the moderators list, and test everyone for being online. This feature no longer exists at the new staff-list.
EDIT: active staff-list on sidebar

If it was a switchable option then people can choose whether to use it or not so everyone is happy then.
