I ignored someone and the next thread I read, there was a placeholder to click to read the ignored content. Is there a setting to control how this works?
How would you like it to work? Then I can see what is available. Thanks

I have updated the "Mark all Read" link so that if on the main forums page it is only 1-click to mark all read. If you are in a thread it will then ask if you want to mark all forums read, or only that specific thread.

Interesting issue with google searches off site. I looked for this but the keyword to search would be "print" and that's a tough one here.
When I search in google for something photo related and Apug has a link The Google sends me a link with "/print" at the end of the URL casuing my computer to want to print the page!
Here is a link google provided:
(there was a url link here which no longer exists)

Remove "print" from the end and no problem, the link is normal.

It looks like our system to print threads (which appends the /print) has gotten into google index. I'll see if we can change that word to something that can't be found by searches

I wonder if there's an on/off function to hide/show NSFW threads. Of course, those threads would all have to be marked as NSFW.

There's not an easy solution really. You could collapse the sidebar photo, avoid the gallery and ignore any forums that might be a problem.

@Wayne I've done a few things to speed up the thread preview and am still trying to make it far more instant.

It seems to be working faster now, and the pesky avatars are gone. Thanks. Any chance of making it wider instead of taller? That would make it perfect IMO but 2 out of 3 isn't bad.

That's too bad because it would be a popular feature.

The main problem is getting everyone to mark their content "NSFW" and then depending on all posts/images to be marked correctly. You could still get caught out at work if 3% ignore or fail to mark their content NSFW.

Not to mention differences of opinion about what constitutes NSFW.

That's true but it might help a bit anyway...

I just learned not to look at APUG, LFPF and other photographic websites during breaks at work. That turned out to be the safest thing to do.

Good policy, someone might post a disgustingly childish video

The main problem is getting everyone to mark their content "NSFW" ...

That also would mean to know what would be "NSFW".
We are spread all over the world, are situated in different cultures.

The most simple solution for anyone in distress would be to hide the sidebar and to keep out of the gallery.
Typically one is expected to keep private matters off from employed work anyway.
