You are right, I do like the retro 126 looks of the H35, I think it is a good selling point.
I have a Kodiak 126 camera but I am not interested in trying to load it with 35mm, even if I can save a few Euro or cents

I do like the fact the H35 is a half-frame 35mm camera that is produced NEW and IMO it is nicely priced.
As @Huss has shown here and in his own thread, the excellent quality of the shots produced by this camera.

I may be a little early but this camera would make a great Christmas present.

Love that left hand shot in particular, looks almost like it was taken underwater. Last time I checked, my local Mike's Camera was out of the H35, but I'm pretty sure they have 3-packs of that film available.

I think all my rolls will be endless given 12 exposures is just about my limit before I want to process a film.

So it seems my idea to remove the baffles inside an H35 has hit a wall. On first glance it looks like you can easily remove them, bit while digging into this some more they are actually a molded part of a larger assembly in the lens box area.

Don't give up all hope. There may be some similar cameras that could be altered to meet your idea/plan. I checked my Superheadz half-frame and there is just not a large enough film panel for full-frame, but something like the Escudo Half 35 is wide like the H35 -- and appears to have the same features. I don't have one, but it might have a "build" that could be modified to meet your needs. Perhaps there is a seller on the WEB that shows a picture of the interior.

The results I have seen from the Superheads are pure garbage compared to the H35, so I wouldn’t consider those for anything.
The Escura seems decent from what I have seen, but is more expensive than the H35 and I couldn’t find any pics of the innards. I have a feeling they most probably are identical..

I'm discovering that the H35 is showing up under more names than just the Escura. The Escura not only comes in different colors -- you can get it with various FLAG coverings, etc. Another re-badged off-shoot is the YAMA. It may only be available in Asia. It looks exactly the same, and comes in various BRIGHT colors. I assume it is also a half-frame -- but it might just be a full-frame with the baffles removed, like the Kodak F9 (same camera???). I've got to assume that the H35 comes under other names as well.

There are lots of these on EBAY, but none of them appear USED -- probably because they are so new -- but they will be showing up there pretty soon at bargain basement prices.

Let me know when that happens because none of the cameras you have mentioned have shown up at bargain basement prices. Even those which have been on sale for a long time.

and that’s the really nice thing about the H35 - it takes great pics, you can buy it new from lots of reputable places with zero hassles if there are issues, it comes with a warranty, and it is cheaper than any of the half frame options you keep bringing up.

Heads up to those who may be looking at ‘new’ H35s for sale on ebay. They are not, you can tell by looking at the boxes. Pay the extra $10 and actually get a new one w warranty.

I was under the, apparently wrong, impression that you wanted a half-frame camera that you could convert into full frame use -- a la the example photo you provided above. Here's what you wrote:

Another example of what I do - using a roll film camera. removing the baffles on an h35 type camera that is a half frame camera should allow for something similar

Pretty sure that a stock Lomo LC-Wide will do that if you got the $$. Never fussed with the half-frame feature on that camera at all, my bad.

Whoa I had no idea the LC Wide could switch between ff and 1/2 frame!

Hmmm but at $420 it’s kinda expensive to ‘break’ it to shoot 1/2 frame spacing on a full frame image. But how intriguing!
Maybe I should look for a used one…

I just saw it uses removable frame masks to create the other formats. Even better!

The GOOD news is that anyone who loves the look of the H35 does not have to pay $50 to "enjoy the experience." Just pick up any Kodak 126 Instamatic -- 0.99¢ TOPS -- and reload it with 35mm film. You'll be good to go -- PLUS the ladies will be all over you!!!

Hardly any of the second hand stores or Value Village or Goodwill stores have much, if any old plastic cameras. And, if they do they want much more than $.99
Not sure why but they have prices of 7.99-14.99 on that sort of junk. Not sure if anyone pays that or they get some kind of support for unsold stuff that depends on its supposed ‘value’.
Sure, 20 years ago the bins were piled high with this sort of cameras, all priced at $1-2, but it’s all gone now.
About 30 years ago I picked up a incomplete 60mm f11.7 refractor of undetermined make. I removed the .965 focusing draw tube and rigged up a standard 1.25 focuser. It doesn’t look like much but within the limits of it’s simple two element achromat it gives clean crisp images of the moon and planets.
Half frame connection? If I slip out the visual back, I have a conversion to T mount and can use it on my Olympus Pen F at prime focus.
