Excitement building.... H35 to be delivered today... Will compare it to my Leica M3 Dual Stroke. Because with a Dual Stroke M, if you only wind it once it becomes a half frame camera, right? Those Leica engineers are so clever! A half frame and full frame camera in one.

So if you only use one stroke on the Pen F it becomes a quarter frame?

Not quite, but wouldn't that be nice? After each exposure with the Pen F, the "film-advance" lever was used twice -- once to advance the film and again to cock the shutter.

If you want quarter-frame pictures on 35mm film, get a Nickelodeon PHOTOBLASTER

There are plenty of pictures taken with the various SUPERHEADZ half-frame cameras from various photographers with various subjects -- on-line.

After seeing some images and reviews of this camera I think I will hold off on this one.

Wait till you see mine! No matter what the results are I'll post them. Maybe they will be terrible. Most probably they will be awful. But what you'll see are results which would be about as good as you'll get from this camea as I'll make the same effort in scanning/converting the images as I would if I took them with a "decent" camera.

Think of this as a service to the members of photrio! Taking one for the team.

No 'go find pics someone else took' here!

I just discovered an eighth type of the SUPERHEADZ half-frame 35mm cameras -- the RED TREES.

There may be others out there -- COLLECT THEM ALL!!!

Yup, what I am using. Incredible cameras. And to think, fixed focus, fixed aperture, fixed shutter speed.

I got one of those four-on-a-frame plastic Action Cameras a long time ago with the idea of using it for street photography (imagine if Cartier-Bresson had had one!), but unfortunately this idea was so good that I have never put it into practice.

Ad name swindles`= licencing of nominal reputation, unlike Kodaks efforts, there are some good performing examples, RingFoto apparently licenced the Voigtländer name and may have required some quality in the products. While others let well reputed brand names disappear when merging companies (Tomioka submerged into Yashica, Kern into Wild, AO into Leitz)

Why not a BIFLEX:

(1948) An exceedlingly curious and rare submini from Germany/Switzerland is the Biflex. It managed to take 200 exposures on a roll of 35mm film by placing them in two rows on the film. They were 11x11mm in size. It did this by using a cassette flipping system -- the film was fed from one cassette into another. The pictures were exposed on the "top row" and then the cassettes were flipped over and run through the camera again, for another 100 exposures on the bottom row -- which is now the top row. You get the picture. The lens is usually a 20mm (f2.8). It is thought that fewer than 500 were made. Shutter speeds are from 1/10 through 1/250. Who knows what the rear lens thread was? Framing was through a very small peephole viewfinder. Despite the Biflex name, it is NOT a Twin Lens Reflex. The images were designed to be viewed as slides since many slide accessories were made such as a slide projector with two, fast lenses and various slide holders and trays.

The viewfinder is fine. They obviously just masked off the regular donor vf but it is very clear and easy to compose with. Much easier than the almost invisible frame lines in my Agat 18K!

Looks cute, but i am afraid of the plastic lens
I've tried a lot of old and new-ish compact cameras in the past few years (well under 100$). Not impressed.
Still a fan of SLR and glass.

I'm going to be a late adopter in this case, if at all.
