Someone showed me a timetable which showed a release schedule (it might have been accidentally released, idk) It showed SX-70 B+W and 600 B+W released immediately, followed by 1200 B+W and SX-70 and 600 color released in 6 months, I think. Or something like that.

How would a 1200 black and white (do you mean ISO 1200) work with these cameras? Would you have to put the exposure dial all the way to the dark side of it?

Spectra system= 1200. I had the same question.

I wonder. Whichever is a simpler product to make is probably what they will have first. I am not big into the manipilations so I don't really care either way. Harmon Technology is in on the project so I would hope the black and white would be nice.

Do you know if they bought the exact formulas from Polaroid?

They stated repeatedly that they cannot begin anything with the original formula as some elements neccessary are no longer produced and thus they have to seek for alternatives, which will end, if at all, in a different film.
Furthermore they are only capable so far in manufacturing a receptive layer and pods, and doing the assembly.
They need a partner in manufacturing the negative.

I would laugh hysterically and ironically and retreat to my cave if they announced "we have failed. bye bye" tomorrow. They've tried to leave us in suspense though I'm guessing they have completed it.

I don't know who would coat the color film. I heard that Polaroid originally stopped making 600 film because they had run out of the negative layer. They had to contract the coating out and for the last few years cut existing stock down until they ran out. I'm not sure how truthful that is but AgX is right in that they need to coat color film somehow. If they can do that they may as well fire up the kodachrome machines too

I was thinking the same thing when I read the press release—the Fuji pack films are certainly analogue instant films.

PX?!?!? Kodak might have something to say about that.

I see they've named their film "PX." Am I the
only one who's wondering why someone didn't
say, Waitaminit -- what about Plus-X? I'm
wondering how many minutes it will take Kodak's
lawyers to file an infringement action.

And the introductory video is a nightmare. They
take a photo and hold it up to the camera, and
it never develops into an image.

This does not bode well.

as an aside, you all complain and complain about the loses and at least they are trying to do something, lets, take a deep breath and see what happens give them a break!

Indeed! I hope they have success on this front.

I for one am excited about this and I will be among the first in line to give this stuff a try if I can. In fact, I plan on blowing the dust off my SX-70 camera when I get home from work tonight just to make sure it still looks to be in working order.

I hope Freestyle will be among the “select retail outlets”.
