I have the first edition, bought nearly 20 years ago when I was fresh out of art school. One of the most interesting books that I have ever seen on the subject of film developing. I learned a lot about photochemistry from it, and I can't wait to have the second edition!

Thank you, craigclu. I have always found Amazon to be less than Focal/Routledge, at least on the Darkroom Cookbook. I didn't even bother to look at the Focal site.

Yep, I just ordered from these folks as well. Free shipping and no state sales tax. I've used nothing but XTOL for the last 20 years, but I love these books.

I pre-ordered just now as well. Previous versions are so worn out, with stains from developers and chemicals on some pages, but I still read them cover to cover at times. No photography developing class was so thorough.
