I am open minded, but I once had a old package of XTOL that had a stain that looked like the Holy Mother. Kinda looked like she was playing backgammon, not sure what that means.Paterson tank, 10 ml of Rodinal concentrate, water to make 500 ml; with your setup you could give a prewash and add the Rodinal to the tank. Nearly any 100 speed film will give good results at 1:50. Consider agitating only every 3rd minute and adding 40% to Massive Dev Chart time. You'll be amazed how this opens up your shadows, yet your overall contrast will be normal.
You will have a conversion experience. You may use Xtol again, but you will always after return to the Holy Rodinal.
