I kind of wish Tea were still a valuable trade resource, not only was it fun to carry in bricks around china, but you could make some nice tea too, AND grow your own... The good old days when money literally used to grow on trees... HAH!

My then-fiance was adamant she didn't like diamonds, wanted just a blue topaz. Got a very nice ring with a blue topaz. It is, if I do say so, beautiful.

It's not unusual for B&H fresh film to be the same or less than Freestyle short date or past day.

Freestyle fresh TMX is $89/100', short date is on sale for $79. B&H has fresh for $77.

I love Freestyle, but they're not really competitive on film and paper, at least not the brands you can get elsewhere. Their house brand stuff is a bargain if you like Foma (and Adox for the MCP papers) though. I still buy some from them to support them and to consolidate shipping when I'm buying other stuff (like any of the myriad chemicals B&H can't/won't ship.)

Fully agreed, it bugs me a bit, as in my perspective they take advantage of college students who don't know any better.

That said I do support them, their ilford ULF prices were the best for roll film, and Adox Adonal they will ship. Just wish their Arista boxes were smaller, they don't fit in my snapware(tupperwear) and sadly I'm looking to do contact printing soon and the FOMA stuff has too many emulsion pinholes, it sucks because I really like it's look and grain for enlarging. But you get what you pay for ya know? Who knows maybe I'll come back to it, I really like it for portraits.

You have to remember, you and I are basically the opposite, you don't even own a computer, and I have a computer in my pocket that is on me at all times, part of this has to do with the fact that at a moments notice I could be called for a job to which I have to always be available, so my phone is always on me, and part of it is just my enthusiasm toward understanding more about film in general and constantly reading and researching, and part of it is because I'm often available to socialize when everyone else is working, so I have a lot of time on my hands that no one else is available to have a normal human interaction with, and during that time I spend a lot of it on APUG

Yeah, I could have bought my Harman special-program film for less from Freestyle but I wanted to give some business to Unique Photo.

Freestyle gets about 4 hours labor from me per year.
