I was referring to a film marketed in the U.K as Agfa Vista 200 that some people on this forum think is made by Fuji but it doesn't look like any Agfa or Fuji neg film I've ever used.

That film is not named Agfa Vista 200, but AgfaPhoto Vista 200.

For the record, this is the Fuji C200 of which Agfaphoto Vista+ 200 is said to be a clone: http://www.discountfilmsdirect.co.u...-colour-print-camera-film-twin-pack-262-p.asp
I've used both and the only differences were on the film rebate: Agfaphoto has the markings "CA24" and "200N". The Fuji C200 has "CA24", "Fuji" and "200". The "CA24" code is the type of emulsion and also identifies the Agfaphoto film as a Fuji film as far as I know.

It is either time expired or has been stored badly or they had a process problem cause it needs more than normal white balance filtering, but the shadows and highlights in high contrast situations don't have significant casts. So the masking seems to be normal.

It is much better than a cross processed slide.

But at 1 GBP in most high streets it is ok if you run out of film.

Some people will like the signature it is very tolerable with my single coated lenses.

Why? Now that I'm approaching upcoming school I've thought of stocking up on this film for the color photo and printing courses... Since you can't print E-6 and that's all I shoot.

What's wrong with it?

i don't shoot much of this stuff anymore, but at times i used to shoot about 5-7 rolls of superia 200 a week (a few years ago).
i always liked it better than the other films around ( nice pallet of colors, great contrast ), and the price was right ..
i didn't get it through wals ( maybe sometimes sams ) but i mostly bought it through hunts photo video's mothership in melrose mass.
it wasn't brand new / fresh off of the emulsion rollers but "short date" and sold for between 1-2$ a roll, i'd buy between 30-100 rolls at a time.
i shot it side by side with "the same film new" sent it to fuji to process and there was no difference between the negatives+prints.
since you will be printing / post processing it yourself in school i am sure you won't have any trouble adjusting the color pallet if it is too green
or red or whatever ...

i'm sure hunts still has short date film, they might be worth calling for the fuji / whatever else they might sell you for your "going to school stash"..

good luck!

It was 9.69 per 4 pack at my Walmart today (the only thing I went there for) but I think it was still a good deal so I bought one. Hard to beat less than 2.50/ roll (except when it was half that)

Same here Wayne, bought a 4 pack for 9.69. These days if I see actual film in a retail outlet for 2.50 or less its hard not to say no.

Regular price was $6.59 when I picked up my 3 packs ordered on line. I had wanted 5, but got cut back to 3 when ordering. They had plenty on the shelf, but I didn't have time to argue.
