I have a Schneider SA MC 65mm f5.6 in a Copal 0 with significant damage to both the external and internal elements. I found a matching pair of front and rear elements with fine glass. I thought I could just use the same shutter with the new front and rear elements. Problem is that the rear housing of the just purchased lens has an extra length compared to the old housing, which prevents shift movements on my Cambo wide (when focused at infinity). It appears Schneider made some small modifications to the lens barrel during the production run of the lens.

The question is: Can the glass elements from the rear housing of the "new lens" be removed and installed into the old housing? If yes, is this something I can do (I never tinker like this with lenses)?

I attached a picture of the two rear housings (old on the left).

Thanks for any help with this.
