It was hinted at above that the new films would not come in a cassette, but packaged singularly.
The old 4x5 and 8x10 films were single packed already.

I never liked the Polaroid packfilm cameras anyway. So never liked packfilm much. Are batteries still available for the automatic cameras... of have they gone the way of dodo birds too.

If it was 4x5 sheet Polaroid in the works I’d be getting more excited.

Battery replacement typically is the least issue with such rather big cameras.

Packfilm brought me back to photography, but once FP100C was the only emulsion left, I saw the writing on the wall. I stocked up on packfilm, but I also started moving to 35 and MF. I was actually shooting a relative’s wedding (Partially on FP3000b) when the final announcement was made. I can buy a lot of 35 and 120 for the cost of one pack of film now, and with one exception, shoot it all on cameras that give better results than the old Polaroids (My 800/110a/600SE conversion is the exception but you can’t compare a custom build with a stock Polaroid).

Yes, adapters for modern batteries are available.

Will I back it, probably. Do I expect anything in return? No.

Batteries for my 104 are still quite easily available....by which I mean several online stories which specialise in batteries sell them...Amazon and my local hardware store can order them in. Price isn't cheap at around £7-11 depending on my choice of retailer. But they're clearly still available.

Also not too difficult is adapting it to use AA's instead. In order to test the camera before I got too far into using it, I soldered some connectors onto the existing battery connectors and used AA's.

The 100 series Polaroid cameras, and presumably others, remain usable as long as some sort of film is made available for them.

For now. Until they find a way to make it a true packfilm. That is what I read in the update:
https://www.kickstarter.com/project...ant-analog-packfilm-re-invented/posts/2363348

No. They've given up on packs. The update is about getting different emulsions to put in their single-sheet boxes.

From the first FAQ:

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN ALL THE AMAZING P7 MATERIAL WILL BE USED UP?

The P7 ONE INSTANT edition is just the very first material we plan to load our new paper cartridges with: we have several super promising potential partners who can supply us with breathtaking photo-sensitive materials in the very near future. (Please read update #1 for more details)

Might be easier to figure out how to put an Instax film in a 'packet.' First tab withdraws the darkslide paper and the second tab pulls the Instax film through the rollers.
Don't need a Kickstarter, just some paper, tape and scissors.

The price is going to be prohibitive. Don't get me wrong, I understand WHY it will be in the range it will be in, but it's still in the "not worth that much to me" category.

I certainly applaud their success and hope it continues, but not for me. The price is just too high for me.

The body text on that website is written in Courier. That's a tale-tale sign that they don't pay attention to detail and doesn't bode well, in my mind, for their chances of success. To me, that website just looks like a hipster cliché and not a serious business proposal. Count me out. I hope I'm wrong, as I would like to see pull apart film return. And I'll definitely buy some if they prove successful. But if GeoCities taught me anything, it's how to avoid Courier, Papyrus, and Comic Sans.

Can I assume that anyone starting a venture to produce a new panoramic film camera will need to download Hellenic Wide?

I'll probably buy very occasionally after my small stash of FP100 runs out. I do want to keep my Polaroid 104 in use, even if only because it is utterly mad so to do.

As for the font used....so what?

I did not start making statements, people at Impossible did.

You all seem not to understand the interesting philosophical issue behind such:
the first one to make a statement can say what he wants, the critic has to bring up proof...

The critic doesn't have to bring up proof, but if the initial statement is said in detail for years and the critic simply responds with 'no that's not true', the worth of that critique will be directly proportional to the perceived lack of detail/effort.

Repeating and spreading the initial lie does not make it true either.
