Can anyone refer me to someone who may be able to repair my film scanner? I didn't use it for a long time because with Mac OS x upgrades the softwear didn't work anymore, then I was waiting for a new computer to buy the softwear. Now I have a brand new Apple (finally), plugged my scanner in, installed VueScan softwear, and the scanner will not take the film holder all the way inside and so the program thinks I do not have film in my scanner.....
I cannot find anyone, even through Nikon, to repair this scanner. I'd appreciate any sources, thank you!

It's totally dependent on your location, which you don't mention. Just Google "Nikon Coolscan repair/service" and see what comes up. I did and several possibilities are available for N. America.

This thread is quite a few years old - but as an owner of a almost working but broken LS-8000 (needs a new main board apparently, the images get lines all over them :-( ) if you have a dead LS-8000 I'll buy it off you for parts/shipping! I may as well try and fix it, since the service centre in London just took one look at it and said it was impossible. Which was over a grand down the drain :-(

Any of you want to sell the 2 strip 12 negative film holder to me for my 9000?

Mikal
